Quiet nights in Causeway Bay with easy access to cosmopolitan action
This Causeway Bay hotel has a felicitous location between Happy Valley Racecourse, a wealth of shopping centers and the Wan Chai business district. The hotel staff are the stars of this show, elevating the classiness of the hotel. Standard rooms may be modest in size and decor, but upgraded rooms are a palpable step up in luxury. Quiet nights promote proper rest, but several nearby public transport options put travelers at the heart of business, shopping and tourist districts in minutes.
Highlights
- Watch horse races at Happy Valley Racecourse from guest rooms
- Location is quiet at night, but offers nearby access to tram, MTR and ferry
- A total of 3,785 square feet of configurable meeting and event space
Rooms
On one side of the hotel lies the Happy Valley Racecourse, and on the other is a cemetery. While this detail might sound unappealing, it actually creates a quiet zone for peaceful sleep. All rooms have wireless Internet access, but the in-room broadband access is often speedier. Standard rooms meet the fundamental needs of travelers with satellite TV, in-room safe and the added perk of a pillow menu. Higher-end rooms and suites have views of the racecourse and city, with enriched decor and additional space for work or relaxation.
Features
The excellent service shines as brightly as the sparkling lobby. Adjoining the lobby is the intimate 3T bar, whose outdoor patio lets patrons relax over drinks while soaking in the street life. La Maison de l'Orient serves Cantonese and western cuisine, and both restaurant and bar have free Wi-Fi. A small fitness center and two 24-hour business centers serve in a pinch, while the Foot Joy Club treats weary feet with the pampered attention they deserve. The hotel's little touches add up to great value in Causeway Bay.

Very good place to stay
Stayed here for 8 nights recently for business trip/sightseeing. A very good base for sure. Hotel was in good location near the Causeway Bay area and short walks to Causeway Bay and Wan Chai MTR stations. Facilities were good and staff friendly and everywhere was well maintained. Only gripe was being charged £9.00 for 2 coffees in the restaurant when meeting a colleague there and using the free Wifi. Didn't use the room internet as seemed very expensive and had excellent 3G reception in any case.

Very Nice Hotel but Can be Noisy
This is the second time I stayed at this hotel. Although its location is by no means ideal it is a very nice place with excellent staff, and cheaper than other HK hotels at the same level. The problem is the big highway right next door so the room you get is critical. The Happy Valley view sounds great but you get the highway thrown in! Town view is better but all you see are high rises. We had a nice, quiet room this time and had a very pleasant short stay. We only really used the room for sleeping, so much to see and do in HK.

Money-saving tip:
In Hotel
Use the hotel Wifi in the lobby where there are comfortable chairs and a bar. Wifi in the room, through an outside provider, is a rip off. Use the shuttle buses into Wan Chai. Taxis very difficult in the morning.

Good location, but at a price
Being in Wan Chai on Hong Kong island is a great location, but the Cosmopolitan was still a good distance from the nearest MTR station. They do offer free shuttles to several areas which is a great help. The rooms were fairly clean, but not as I was expecting. I just think if at an average of about $400 per night, it was a bit much.

Cosmopolitan a great place to stay in Hong Kong
Our room was very clean and the amenities were quite nice. The free breakfasts were a great value -- 4-star dining every morning! the fitness room was basically a hotell room with a pair of tread mills and 2 lifting machines, but it was clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the toursim desk was particularly useful both in booking tours and reservations and also in just giving us information on how to get places and what to expect. I would stay at this hotel again.

GET AN OCTOPUS CARD! The public transportation in hongkong is very reliable. the taxis are the most expensive option, but they get you there. the subway goes everywhere and has multiple entrances and exits and signs that lead you you to them. Everything has signs in english.the octopus card is basically a generally accepted debit card that works at all transportation. a must have.

The Unexpected
I had only only 1 night in Hong Kong this trip, and my flight was delayed over 7 hours. I got to the hotel at 10:45pm and explained I was quite hungry. The hotel arranged for a pizza to be delivered to the hotel, and the conceriege guy even ran to 7-11 to pick me up some stuff. This was totally unexpected and the exceptional thoughtful servce helped make my stay special even though short.

Great stopover from Oz!
We arrived at the hotel after a long flight from Oz and immediately our bags were taken off us to be delivered to our room, check in was easy and quick and we were soon in our room which had an amazing view over the Happy Valley Racecourse. All in all the room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfasts were very varied to suit all tastes. One of my concerns was that when booking on-line I couldn't work out how to book the breakfast and it wasn't included in the price of the room, so we had to sort that out when we got there and ended up having to upgrade our room! The other concern was the location which wasn't really very central and there was quite a long walk to the nearest MTR. Still we had an amazing stay in Hong Kong and the hotel certainly contributed to that.
