Great hotel, good value!

Good location (near the main road with shops and variety of Asian and Western eateries), also very close to the MTR and trams, I took it everyday to visit the tourist spots. Good service even though they may not speak English very well. Clean rooms and strong in room Wifi. Airport bus was convenient too. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Convenient, comfortable, clean

Only about 5 minutes walk from the train station. Staff were great and tended to my needs. Room comfortable clean, and spacious. Only negative if anything is the air conditioning noise, a little loud, but overall very satisfied with my stay at the City Garden Hotel.

Good value for couples and business

We had the signature room which allowed us to check in on floor 25 not the main reception and then to have use of the club lounge. The staff in the club lounge were helpful and friendly, if they didn't have an answer they would find out and get back to you. We had a smoking room and it was a little tired, however, it was always clean. The breakfast was lovely with something for everyone, fresh fruits and cereals, to both local and European cooked choices. Our only problem was that the pool was closed during our visit for maintenance and we had specifically booked a hotel with a pool. All in all a good hotel.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

Get the Express train ticket from the airport with 3 days free travel. You can top this up to use on buses and trams. Locally they have octopus cards and this then works like an octopus card. You can then use the ticket on buses to Stanley etc, trams around Hong Kong and up to the Peak and on the ferries.

cheap

In a word, cheap. Some of receptionists were not trained well and were inefficient. The sound insulation is not sufficient and every word of neighbors could be heard clearly. If you don't care too much for comfort, you can choose this place.

Hong Kong stop over

Hotel is situated in an easy to get to location with an abundance of taxis readily available and also a shuttle bus. Breakfast is good and worth the spend. Only thing missing in the hotel is a bar however if you opt for the club rate you can use the lounge

Just so so

The location is good, close to CBD. We have a room with the locked door to next room. The first night was very noisy at late night, because the guests in next room talked and laughed loudly. The rest nights were OK.

Good for families

We were travelling in a family of 13. Hotel provided me an extra bed without additional cost when I had a 3 year old kid. Although the check in took longer than expected it was still hassle-free. I was worried when we check in next to a room under going construction but luckily it wasn't really a bother. I do find however the bathtub not up to standard but overall experience was good. One thing I wasn't happy about was I'd expect the housekeeper to leave my room alone when I indicated "Do not disturb" but upon returning it was clearly done up. I only regret that I didn't spend time walking around the hotel. I only realised we were conveniently located next to their famous Tim Sum "Dim Ho Wan" when we took their shuttle bus to the airport.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

It took me a day to realize walking opposite road to the right will lead to an overhead bridge saves me the few traffic light wait.
