good place but one issue

Well I stayed there and the staff was so helpful and friendly. The location is within walking distance to everything, and there is a metro station only two blocks away. There is loads of shopping and restaraunts all nearby and they were all reasonably priced. Thus was ALMOST a perfect place with only one drwlawback. The WIFI was horrable. I could not connect from my room practicly the whole week that I stayed there. Wifi is a big deal for people on vacation so that was a big bummer. Other then that though it was great.

Great value, near metro and city center

The hotel is near the sigrou fix metro station (200 m away) and it is just one stop to the Acropolis, which you can access by foot (500 m away) from the hotel. The price is reasonable for its location. Several restaurants near by.

Fantastic hotel

The hotel is situated centrally and it is so easy to walk to most of the major attractions. It is close to the metro and to bus and tram lines. The staff were really helpful and explained in detail how to get anywhere we wanted to go. The lady in the breakfast room was lovely and took the time to tell us about the Temple of Poseidon at Sounion. I don't think we would have made the journey but thanks to her we did and it was definitely worth it! I had just been made redundant and my two daughters took a week off work to cheer me up. The holiday was perfect and the friendliness of this hotel made out holiday. Thank-you to all the staff :)

The Panathenaic Standium (Olympic Stadium) isn't far from Zeus's temple and Hadrians gate. We went in early March and it was almost empty. It wasn't on my list but so glad we went! The audio guide gives you a great sense of the history. This is a MUST! Also Poseidon's Temple. It is about an hour and a half out of Athens but well worth the trip. There is only one bus which is orange and the only one to stop at an orange stop (could't be easier). It drives along the coast and to Sounion and the scenery is beautiful. The views from the temple are stunning. We were told to go for the sun set but went in the morning as we were out of season and the last bus was 6pm. There is about 2 hours between buses which is the right amount of time. If you want one trip out of Athens - this is the one to take.

Surprisingly great hotel

The Acropolis Select is a gem of a hotel. Staff is outstandingly helpful. Room clean, quiet, and comfortable. Only 2 blocks from Sygrou-Fix Metro. Many nice restaurants and cafes in easy walking distance. Met the happiest man I've ever met running a chocolate shop up the street near the Acropolis. I didn't give 5 stars only because the third bed in our triple room was a foldup cot, not a bed as pictured.

Easy transportation to airport via Metro if you don't have much luggage. Take red line at Sygrou-Fix two stops to Syntagma, then switch to blue line to airport.

excellent location, friendly staff

Stayed for a week with 12 yr old son to explore the ancient sights. Hotel within 10 minute walk of Acropolis Museum, Acropolis, Temple of Zeus, Plaka, restaurants by the dozens and 3 minute walk to underground that is easy to use. Hotel itself nice 3 star, clean, comfortable, adequate breakfast with friendly and helpful staff. Would use again.

Great price great location

This hotel was perfect for what we needed - budget friendly in a safe neighborhood. The major sites are within walking distance and there are lovely cafes and restaurants just up the street. Be sure to stop at the tiki bar just up the hill after dinner! Even better was the staff who were all very kind - in particular is Marika who went above and beyond to assist with our Hamman Bath reservations (a definite must if you are in the area). She was very attentive and helpful thru our entire stay and we were very appreciative of her. My travel friend and I are both single woman and are are very conscious in regards to the safety of our surroundings. I would not only reccomend this hotel to woman traveling alone but to families as well. I hope you all enjoy this hotel and area as much as we did!

We dropped our bags at the hotel and grabbed the big red sightseeing bus just up the street. It is a 90 minute narrated tour that you can hop on and off at your leisure. It was an easy way to get the lay of the land and figure out what attractions you wanted to go back and visit. I think it was 19 euros and the ticket was good for 2 days.

good location, good value, bring confirmation

The hotel was very well located walking distance from the metro station and the acropolis. The staff was a little bit rude. My reservation included breakfast and when I got there he pulled out a paper that read "room only" despite the fact that my printed confirmation read differently they will not include my breakfast. I got tired of arguing and ate my breakfast around the corner in a very nice cafe.

Great location.

Room was plain, but it included a free American Breakfast and excellent coffee, which is next to impossible to find anywhere except US. Walking distance to Placa and Acropolis. We were there during the general strike and were fine walking everywhere. Rally nice, knowledgable staff and perfect location.
