Hilton Munich City

Very convenient to get to the Hotel from the Munich airport (just take the S8 train and exit Rosenheimer Platz). Great location, just a 15 minute walk (or 2 train stops away) from the Marienplatz and right next to this year's "beach bar" location. Room inside was amazing. Loved it!

Went to the Christmas Markets and the location was great, especially the train from the airport.

The hotel concierge were terrible. One was nasty and directed us to a restaurant that was no longer in business. The other insisted the Christmas markets did not start until the next week when they opened that day. The "non allergic" pillow reeked of cigarette smoke and was way too flat to be useful. The temperature in the rooms was too hot and the windows locked. Other than the proximity to the subway, there is nothing to recommend for this hotel. Hilton has some work to do here to improve!

This is a good hotel in a very good location. As others have stated, it is easily accessible via S8 train from airport. Follow signs for "Gasteig" when leaving the Rosenheim Platz station and you will be at the hotel. Mostly the hotel is standard Hilton quality, but there is room for improvement here. First, concierge is overall poor. Most of the concierge staff do not smile or offer additional info, so be prepared to play 20 questions if you want to fully understand. Second, the T.V. has the most limited selection of English language channels I have ever seen - only 3 channels and they were all news. Of course, for an obscene amount of money, one could upgrade their T.V. viewing. A single movie rental is 10 Euro.

Nice hotel, incredible location. The hotel is next to the city pedestrian center, across from the Deutsches museum, 10 minutes from the Hoffbrau house and sits on top of a train station with elevator access from inside the hotel. By s-train it is 30 minutes from the train station in the Munich airport. Lots of restaurants, and night life within a 15 minute walk. Staff speaks perfect English for those who haven't brushed up on their Deutsch!

Modern hotel located above Rosenplatz S-Bahn station. Took the train direct to the hotel. Very convenient as there was a lift straight to the hotel lobby. Use the Gastig exit and follow signs to Hilton Hotel. Rome was a decent size for Europe. Generous sized Crabtree and Evelyn products in the bathroom. They even provided bathgowns and slippers. The breakfast was fantastic but it was very busy in the restaurant. The concierge and reception was very polite and helpful. This hotel is not in town but the s-bahn is only 2 stops away from Marienplatz on the S-bhan. You can walk to town in less than 30 mins. There was a supermarket in a shopping centre directly across the road and some decent restaurants around the area. There was even a self service Laundromat down the road from the hotel. Really couldn’t fault much in this hotel.

The S-Bahn (#8) from MUC (Munich Airport)aka (Munchen Flughafen) has a stop in the parking garage of this hotel (about a 30 minute ride) which couldn't be more convenient. The Gasteig where the Munich Philharmonic performs is immediately next door. The main platz in the city (Marienplatz) is 2 subway stops away or a 15 minute walk. The Deutsches Museum is about 5 minutes away and the English Garden about 10. All in all this is a business/tourist friendly loction.

I tend to stay at Hilton properties when I travel. Most of them are great, but this one was exceptional. The staff in the Executive lounge were wonderful, friendly and went beyond their duties when my husband took ill. [...] found an apothecary that was open on Sunday and arranged for a staff member to pick up medicines the druggist had recommended. Sarah was always making sure the selection of food and beverages were stocked to perfection. I loved this hotel and it's staff. It's within walking distance to downtown, the marketplace and can't be easier to get to the airport; just go down stairs to the metro stop under the hotel. If you have to spend any time in Munich I recommend this hotel as the "must stay" location for your time there.

The hotel and staff are great, shame about the cost but it was beer fest time.

The check in process was very efficient and friendly. Food in the hotel restaurant was delicious. Room was comfortable - roomy, luxurious. However, it was either too hot or too cold all night making sleeping less than ideal. The concierge was not helpful and was actually rude.
