Deutsches Theater Eckelmann Hotel

1. Staff was pleasant enough. 2. Welcome cookies were stale. 3. Elevator had to be as old as Munich itself. SCARY. 4. Shower was nice. 5. Overall bathroom - Dirty. 6. All 3 beds were all 3 different levels of uncomfortable. One bed was a couple 2x4's placed on the ground with two pillows layed on top. One bed was hard as a brick. One bed had absolutely no support and if you sat on it you sunk down onto the ground. 7. The headboards had head grease stains all over it. 8. The ceiling lights had burn marks surrounding them. 9. The TV had a 5x5 screen. 10. The carpet was FILTHY. 11. Sirens all night. 12. Breakfast not included. I don't usually complain about poor accommodations but this place just isn't trying to be sanitary, decent or welcoming. I would suggest staying elsewhere. The pictures are obviously not from the same hotel. This is a disaster of a hotel. Overall the room was horrible and filthy. We were very happy to leave!! Wish we could get a refund!

Staff was nice. Location was great. I stayed in the smallest on my floor but the room was still spacious. Great value. wifi in room wasn't very strong. Skype keep breaking up but OK on other normal use.

Staff was super, especially the evening person. This is a typical German hotel with no air conditioning and no top sheet. (You get a duvet) The hallway on the first floor is run down looking. The rooms do not match the web site at all. The walls are stained and marked up, giving a dirty feel to the place. In summer, you need to open windows, but on first floor the entire hotel across the street can see in. Also, there is a night club on the street level, so I had loud conversation and cigaratte smoke wafting in the window until the wee hours. In winter this would not be an issue, but sleep was tough. The bathroom is clean, and aside from the carpeting and walls, the room was made up nicely. Overall, it was an inexpensive stay, and you can walk to Marienplatz in ten minutes, but the place really is run-down looking, and I would not stay there again because of that and the noise. Oh, parking in 18 euro per night. You get a 2 euro discount for staying at the hotel, but it is automated on the weekend so nobody there to take your discount.

This hotel has no "non smoking" rooms, as I was informed when I checked in. My room smelled awful. The smell of the cigarette smoke was also in the bedding and pillows. The clothes in my suitcase were also affected by the smoke and it irritated my throat. There were bad stains on the wall above the bed. I thought this was the Hotel Deutsches Theaterý in Schwanthaler St, where I have stayed bfore with a better experience. For the amount of money spent, stay elsewhere.

Das Hotel war genau richtig für meinen geschäftlichen Aufenthalt in München.

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral. zum Bahnhof und zur Altstadt-Mitte waren es jeweils ca. 5-10min zu Fuß. Außerdem gibt es ringsrum sehr viele Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Allerdings fanden wir das Hotel nicht gerade so toll was Sauberkeit, Gemütlichkeit und Zimmerausstattung betraf. Sollte Sich das nicht bessern werde ich dieses Hotel mit höchster Wahrscheinlichkeit nicht mehr buchen. An den Wänden hat man große Flecken gesehen, der Vorhang war auch verschmutzt, meine Nachttischleuchte funktionierte schon vom ersten Tag an nicht, der Fernseher ist super mini und schon einige Jahr alt.. Das Bad sah, bis auf die Fliesen, auch schon etwas mitgenommen aus. Daher wollte auch keiner von uns da duschen. Der Fahrstuhl macht komische Geräusche und die Knöpfe lassen sich drehen und fliegen wohl bald raus. Und das Frühstücksbuffet sah auch nicht gerade sehr einladend aus. Also für 9,- EUR sollte man mehr erwarten können wie ein paar Brötchen mit einer einzigen Wurst- und Käseplatte, etwas Marmeldade. Kaffee haben wir auch keinen bekommen. Und man fühlt sich in diesem Raum nicht wohl, da der Raum lediglich mit einer Stellwand vom Eingang und der Rezeption abgegrenzt wird. Die Schlüsselausgabe wurde auch nicht immer kontrolliert und bis auf eine Frau bei der wir eingecheckt haben waren die Mitarbeiter nicht gerade motiviert, sondern eher gelangweilt und dementsprechend auch nicht gerade sehr höflich. Also das nächste Mal suchen wir uns lieber ein anderes Hotel und zahlen auch lieber etwas mehr.
