Paris hotel pampers with a spa, high-end restaurant and regal decor
Guests at InterContinental PARIS – LE GRAND are blown away by the sheer amount of artistry that went into creating the space. The 470-room hotel, which enjoys a sweet spot across from Opera Garnier, evokes the empirical grandeur admired by Napoleon III, favoring stately columns, gold-painted ceilings and artwork, not to mention rooms and suites that live like palaces. Café de LaPaix, the on-site restaurant, and I-Spa by Algotherm beckon guests to enjoy the decadence.
Highlights
- Luxury hotel across from Opera Garnier
- Elegant restaurant with artful French fare
- High-end spa treatments
- Empire-inspired rooms with city views, luxury furniture and linens
Location
InterContinental PARIS – LE GRAND guests enjoy a neighbor's view of one of the most iconic monuments in Paris: the Opera Garnier, which is literally across the property. The district is ripe with other gems, too, including the Louvre, Place de Vendome and the Champs-Elysees.
Rooms
InterContinental PARIS – LE GRAND embraces grandeur in all 470 rooms, each taking inspiration from the Empire style Napoleon III so adored. Expect art that evokes music and dance, embellished, gilded mirrors, exquisite wallpaper, sumptuous linens and views of Opera Garnier across the hotel. Regal colors like gold, red and navy achieve a palatial feeling. Guests choose from suites and standard rooms equipped with Wi-Fi, work desk, cable/satellite TV and mini-bar.
Dining
Chefs prepare meals with art in mind at Café de LaPaix, the ground-floor fine dining restaurant. Sumptuous desserts and entrees are arranged to stun, just like the enormous columns and molded ceiling.
Recreation
I-Spa by Algotherm pampers from head-to-toe with treatments inspired by the sea. Unwind with body wraps, massages and the Douche Multi-sensorielle, a shower cabin that treats the body to water, scents and lighting features.

Beautiful historic Parisienne hotel
Lovely old hotel well located near galleries lafayette and printemps and opera house. Easy walk to most places, lovely vibe and great restaurants and shopping nearby. But this is a pricey hotel and the room service and restaurant are very expensive. However this is offset by the ambience and the rooms are a good size and the staff are friendly and helpful. Our first room was very small and had a view of the air onditioning but we got upgraded and the next room was lovely albeit still internal view! I would stay there again. Concierge and reception very helpful and good position.

Walk the Eiffel tower as you still get the lift up to the top level and the lines for the lift are crazy. If you go to Versailles rent bikes at the bottom of the garden and ride around to see all of the other villas at the bottom of the garden. Buy your tickets to the louvre from the machines under the pyramid inside - barely any lines compared to outside.

The hotel staff was extremely accommodating and courteous. The breakfast at the hotel was fabulous...choice of about 50 items everyday at the breakfast buffet. Delicious and excellent service again. The hotel lobby, spacious room and excellent service defines Paris sophistication and culture!

Great hotel in Paris
This is a great hotel in a very good location. The staff was attentive and looked after our every detail. The only issue we had during 9 days was the initial check in which took until after 3 pm, but our room was worth the wait, a great suite on the 4th floor where we could step on the balcony and have views of Paris. If 8 euro cokes make you nervous, then this isn't the place, but if you want a first class comfortable hotel, I highly recommend the Grand.

Baby moon in Paris
Loved this hotel and could not say enough good things about it! Location was great! Walking distance to pretty much everything from shopping and cafes to the Louvre and other monuments. The rooms were a little small but that is to be expected in Europe. If you have the option to get the breakfast included with the room, you will not be disappointed Cafe la Paix is legendary and has a great breakfast spread that left us more than satisfied every morning with a great view! Hotel staff was always helpful and kind and the hotel lobby and main areas are first class! Will definitely stay there again when we go back!

In Hotel
Cafe la Paix- get the breakfast included with your package if an option. Well worth the extra money as you would pay triple for a meal there if don't get it included and the food there is to die for so you will not want to pass it up!

InterContinental Paris- A definite yes!
The InterContinental was one of the main highlights to my visit to Paris. The hotel itself is beautiful and filled with attentive staff. Every night the concierge offered fantastic recommendations for each meal that made our food experience surpass all my expectations. The hotel also offered an amazing buffet every morning that was perfect for days when we wanted to sleep in later. The location of the hotel was perfect and central to walking around the streets and exploring Paris. This hotel is a definite must and I can't wait to go back again in the future!

100 percent you must visit the Louvre. This amazing museum contains centuries of famous works from early Etruscan, Egyptian, Greek, and Roman art. Some highlights included the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo.

As Grand as its name
The hotel is located conveniently a block away from the Opera House and the Opera Metro station, which is a hub of RER and Metro lines; in short, you can get anywhere in Paris from here. If you don't wish to pay the 37 Euro Breakfast fee (ouch!), there are plenty of places around to grab an omelette, pastry, whatever you prefer. Our two rooms were small but elegant, spotless, with superb bathrooms supplied with white flannel robes, slippers, plenty of towels bath and shower. The bed linens were turned down in the evenings. We were very pleased. Wifi was available but expensive, and the hotel's server didn't accommodate my e-mail, so that was an irritating discovery. The staff at the Hotel were terrific, eager to please, fluent in English, happy to make reservations or give transportation advice. The only caveat I would consider in going there again is that the area is "tourist central." Imagine having a hotel near Times Square. It's convenient, flashy, but perhaps not the most charming Parisian location. It all depends on what you want from the visit.

If you want to eat well at good restaurants, make reservations ahead of time. There are plenty of charming-looking restaurants in the L'Opera area, but you will pay tourist prices for meals that are, alas, merely satisfactory.
