Not a family hotel - cheap furnishings
I've stayed in many hotels in my lifetime, from the very posh, to the sparse yet serviceable.
First off, the hotel is smack-dab in the middle of the s-e-x district of Pigalle (a.k.a. Pig Alley). I came on vacation with my 11-year old - big
stinker. I'm talking two doors down from the hotel door is a escort-bar with women waving you in . . . and it continues on down every street in 4 directions. Luckily, there is a 5th way, directly to the metro that bypasses most of the lasciviousness, though you can't miss them right next to McDonalds. Seriously, a big naked lady and S-E-X in huge pink neon.
For the Hotel: our room (a standard double) was 11' x 12' -very cramped - I'm 5'10", average build. The furniture was literally something I (of little carpentering skill) might whip together out of left-over particle-board in the garage, complete with flaking laminate. The walls are thin (I hear the neighbor's cell phone beeping every time he receives a text). Also the music from the neighboring night club is easily heard past midnight (so . . . free tunes?). The bathroom was equally small with an even smaller shower. I'm really very easy going, but this room was merde - I've stayed in nicer hostels.
On the good side, the room is very clean - the bed is comfortable but won't fit anyone 6 feet or taller. The staff is friendly and speaks decent English, depending on who's manning the front desk. Continental breakfasts (bread, pastries and beverages) are served by a lovely lady and the hotel is 1.5 blocks from the nearest Metro station. There's wireless internet, but you need to purchase a wifi access card to use it. They ran out of smaller minute denominations, so I had to purchase the 24-hour card, 10 euros. McDonald's, across the Pigalle, has free wireless. It is also walking distance to Sacre Coeur and Montmarte.
All in all. 135 euros per night in the red light district with small, thrown-together, yet clean rooms. Admittedly, I don't have any other hotels in Paris to compare it to - but compared to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Munich, Salzburg, all in nice hotels or B&B's near the action? The Hotel Atlanta Frochot seems a poor value.

WORST HOTEL I'VE EVER STAYED AT - DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS DUMP!
I've stayed at my share of hotels and hostels throughout Europe, and Atlanta Frochot is by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. The staff didn't even try to make us feel welcome, as they spoke very little English and didn't take the time to
give us suggestions on sightseeing/places to eat/things to do. They didn't ask for our passports/ids upon arrival so anyone could have checked in/entered without being questioned. The hotel rooms were small, dirty and smelly (I stayed in a room with 1 full bed). My boyfriend woke up with bug bites after sleeping in the bed, and as we were checking out, another American guest was yelling at the front desk that there were bugs in her bathroom and that they couldn't even shower, and the front desk wouldn't change their room!
The room was so small that you couldn't walk around the bed without hitting the window, and the water in the shower actually stopped working mid-way through my ice cold/steaming hot shower.
The only positive was that the hotel was within a 2 minute walk to Pigalle metro stop, but I would highly recommend booking elsewhere to avoid this terrible experience..I'd even recommend a hostel over Atlanta Frochot!

A basic and functional hotel in
A basic and functional hotel in a great location for the metro and with lots of nearby restaurants and cafe's. Reception staff were helpful and friendly. Daily towel change was a bonus. Breakfast uninspiring but gets you started for the day.
Overall, the hotel was marginally better than expected and I would recommend it as a budget destination.

The Good, the bad, and the ugly!
The hotel was well situated near Pigalle metro station.
It did not include tea and coffee making facilities as advertised which was disappointing
Went to the Moulin Rouge show which was walking distance
Room very dark - not much light coming in
and lighting not very bright
Watch out for the 'hostess' girls at night in the bars on the same road as the hotel!
Did trip to Poland last year - room airy and spacious with tea and coffee making facilities

A basic hotel, nothing more and
A basic hotel, nothing more and nothing less. I stayed in a single room, at a reasonable rate, and got a clean but small place with a window on the most narrow courtyard and a tiny TV whose remote control did not work. Nevertheless, everything was
as expected. Do not pay anything for the breakfast however, as it is poor - instead, go to any nearby cafe and eat for 7-9 euros and you receive fresh baguette and croissant instead of the rubbery sort they serve at the hotel. The area is 'lively' with strip joints and shady characters but it is quite safe and you should not be intimidated by the surroundings. Overall, I can recommend the hotel to anyone traveling on budged.

great location, friendly staff.
Great location, right next to the subway station. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast quite good. I would definetely recomment the hotel. There was one issue with the bathroom: the bathtub drain was clogged. On the other hand the
bathroom was spotless as well as the room. We notified the cleaning lady about the problem, but it was not solved (we stayed three nights). I guess they knew about it but it already. This may be a minor but key aspect - a minimum requirement for a hotel. On the other hand, I stayed at the Hilton near place etoile a couple of year ago and they had the same problem with the shower drain (considering that the Hilton was a 4 stars hotel, and priced as such, the Atlanta Frochot would definetely be my choice next time I visit Paris!)

Shopping tip:
Short walk from hotel
There is a liquor store open 24 hours near the subway station (Place Pigale) - next to the "side walk" gass station. They sell snacks, wine, beer sodas, etc.

Great location in Pigalle. 100 metres to Metro. Colourful neighbourhood. Easy access to all of Paris. Breakfast monotonous after 10 day stay. Would stay here again
