Best Western La Villa Des Artistes

We really appreciated the cleanliness of this hotel, the convenience to bus/ train depots, and the comfort and quiet after a long day of sightseeing in Paris. Staff was exceptionally helpful with answering questions about travel routes and destinations in the outlying areas of Paris.

Located within 100m of Vavin Metro station makes sightseeing thoughout Paris easy. Vavin station is surrounded by the best of Left Bank bistros. Very close to Luxembourg Gardens as well.

I don't spend much time in my room in Paris; the rooms were small but well-appointed, very comfortable and lacking nothing. Staff was very helpful, but be sure to ask how the lights operate. Until I realized I needed to insert the room key into the slot on the wall, I couldn't turn on the lights in my room!

For the amount we paid, we expected something better. The rooms were clean but the bathtub was clogged (I showered while standing in an inch or so of water). The staff was friendly, and they let us check in earlier than the stated time; they're very patient and will try their best to understand your English. The location was nice in the fact that it's about a minute walk away from the metro, HOWEVER, if you're planning on spending a lot of time in the "main" city, be prepared for a 45min-1hour ride each way (it's especially annoying since when we went, the 9 train was out of commission, so we had to transfer a lot). Overall, the hotel was decent, but for the price we paid, not worth it. Don't stay here if you're strapped for time and have a huge list of to-dos.

I cannot believe we stayed in the same place that some of the negative reviewers described. We thoroughly enjoyed our comfortable stay and buffet breakfasts but we were not expecting robes, slippers and room service. So don't stay here if you want to stay in the hotel room, swim in the pool or exercise on the equipment(walking was sufficient for us) during your trip to Paris.

We were initially impressed with the location. Our first room had no running water at all. The receptionist was rude as if it were our problem. Finally changed a room to a downgrade, unrenovated with two twin beds even though we reserved a queen. Other receptionists tried harder to provide info but were generally clueless, even at the level of providing basic directions. Decent accomodation but overpriced for what you get.

We stayed at this hotel for two weeks while visiting Paris. It was very nice. We were on the second floor. It was quiet and cool (air conditioned) which was a wonderful retreat at the end of the day after exploring Paris all day. There is free wi-fi in the rooms; you just have to ask the right person at reception (the first person we asked at the reception desk said there was no internet, which is untrue). You will be given a code to get onto [...]. The neighborhood (Montparnasse) is lovely and quite a bit quieter than central Paris, but very convenient to the metro. The closest metro stop (Vivan) is only two blocks away. The Montparnasse train station is only about four blocks away. Lots of restaurants around and a grocery store right around the corner. The breakfast is excellent and convenient but pricy. We were very happy here.

Great little hotel. The room we had was tiny, but comfortable, newly decorated, and just right for us! It even had a bathtub! Location was a bit far from the sights, but the metro was very close. Breakfast was outrageously expensive, but why buy it when there are bakeries, cafes and all of Paris right outside the door! There was no ice to be had, as they were remodeling the bar/lounge. That didn't bother us, but it might bother others. Had a lovely tiny little garden where you could rest or eat. Staff went out of their way to be helpful. There was a small market and a laundromat within a block. In a lovely safe neighborhood. It was perfect for us - a mom with 11-yr old daughter. Loved it.

I reserved a club room due to the decor and upper floor location. The maid staff and the front desk staff were outstanding, extremely nice, spoke english and assisted for any and everything. I had been told the french were rude, but a friend of mine who had visited Paris told me to say Bon Jour to everyone and they would reciprocate in kind. This was 100% true. Granted, the rooms were small, but thats Europe. Street noise was almost non existent with the window closed and the only noise I heard was from the room above, but it was minimal. The wireless internet was free and worked perfectly, just ask the desk for the password. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Best hotel in Paris I ever stayed. Large rooms. Very quiet. Very good location. WIFI in rooms. Helpful bilingual staff. Great breakfast.
