Initially the hotel made a good first impression..nicely decorated lobbby, but reality soon set in. Our room was very light and airy..others we saw were VERY dark. The location is great..The Madeline district..for easy access to Metro which is
very helpful. However, there are virtually no reasonable, adequate restaurants in the immediate area. The room is very quiet ..if you keep the windows shut and air on. If you prefer fresh air, traffic noise is awful..even at late night.
Staff were generally unknowledgeable and/or unhelpful unless really pushed. The elevators are unreal..only 1 elevator to each section and the rear elevator holds 3 small persons at a time. One evening we had to wait over 2 hours to get to our room because the elevator was broken( the 2nd time that week)...staff was not too concerned until we seriously pushed. Housekeeping was an adventure..never knew what would-or would not- turn up..some days there were plenty of towels and no soap,,others it was the reverse. However, having a small regrigerator was a nice touch. Beds and linens were OK, nothing great, and the baths were nice. Overall, a very medium hotel..definitely NOT a 4 star, world class facility as their pictures and advertising indicate.

Short walk from hotel
Purchase a metro pass ASAP if you are doing sightseeing. The metro is very easy to use and very close to this hotel. We bought a 2 day Open-bus tour ticket and 1 day would have been plenty..the metro is much more versatile. If you are sightseeing, eat before going back to the hotel area..nothing there !
