Tropical Princess Beach - All Inclusive

We booked the Superior room in this hotel but when we checked in they upgraded to the Family room for us with no additional charge. The room was clean and it's perfect for our family. If you want to have a good spot on the beach, you have to wake up early about 6 or 7 AM to reserve the chair. People smoked everywhere and the hotel staffs were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our vacation.

Overall, a very good experience, hotel was very close to a nice, wide beach and the weather just gorgeous. Food was good, the resort has many a la carte restaurants. I enjoyed every minute of my staying at Tropical Princess.

I surprised my boyfriend with a trip to DR for Christmas and New Years. We both absolutely loved the service. We had an issue with the ground floor room we were initially assigned and were promptly given another room as promised the next day. The grounds are very much well kept but there needs to be more activities for persons who do not speak French. It appeared the staff catered more towards the French speaking guests more than Spanish or English speaking. Additionally, I was very frustrated being harrassed every moment of the day when on the beach and resort grounds to purchase excursions or other hotel visits. This really put a damper in the experience. The food was mediocre but tolerable nonetheless. I am not sure if this was due to the time frame when we vacationed, but there were A LOT of children running around. For couples who want a more quieter atmosphere, maybe try an "Adults Only" hotel option. While the ambiance was beautiful and the beach was easily accessible, I think more planned activities would have made the trip worth while. I do intend to visit DR again, just probably not this resort.

Plan to stay on the beach or at the pool as your room doesn't provide much comforts. The resort offers different amenities according to what you spend. I had the affordable package but what they don't tell you up front that doesn't include an electronic safe. You must rent a lock for the antiquated safe in the room. You will not have ability to leave or receive messages on the phone. Written notes left on doors are suggested. Rely on air conditioning only. Fresh air during the day but not at night as there is no screen on the sliders to keep Mosquitos out. Bug spray needed at night. Small wash clothes not offered unless requested several times so bring your own. All beaches are smoking beaches and some topless mermaids who probably should remain top on. :-) Decent cable channels but TV is very--old pre-flat screen area. Great activities offered, pools are great, food was good. Walk south to beaches with decent souvenir shops that offer negotiated prices lower than resort shops. Be prepared to speak as much Spanish and/or French to navigate resort and activities with ease. Staff extremely professional and friendly. Please tip them well they definitely earn them and your respect. I had and issue before reaching the resort where I lost my coat and keys. I was highly upset. The staff were extremely helpful in doing EVERYTHING they could to help me. The manager service desk staff, Ivanova and Rukenia were sweethearts and comforted me. Hilda and Farah called the airport lost and found twice per day morning and night trying to help recover my keys. Luis at front desk was diligent message taker for my messages from friend in US. This was my first time in Punta Cana and was traveling alone. I absolutely loved it and would return but will stay in more expensive side of resort called Caribe princess not Tropical 0rincess as rooms have more luxury feel with prominent headboard on bed, nicer linens, fixtures, recessed lighting, granite and tile finishes in baths and glass walk in shower. Hope this review was helpful. :-)

I spent 8 nights at Tropical Princess Beach Hotel (together with my wife). It was incredible. Few points: 1. Weather was fantastic (but this is depending on the period you are going). We went in the middle of september, so rain season. But I heard June/July are the best. (even so, we had like 86-89 degrees, so...just perfect). 2. The room: nice room, clean. I must say i was a little bit skeptical about the bathroom. It did not had a warm feeling. But we got used to that. So...room: clean, AC, light (we stood at Lirio building). 3. Staff: Excellent. I have nothing but good word of them. We left the usual tip (1-2 $ - even it was not necessary- but even so, in the cases with "no tip", staff was excellent). 4. Pool: Excellent. Water had the perfect temperature, it was clean (every morning somebody is cleaning it). 5. Pool Bar: Just go there, ask for a drink, it will be delivered to you immediately. 6. Beach: Extra fine sand, warm water, enought place to sit (sun or shadow). I warmly recommend this Resort

Decent resort if you get a great deal on price. Rooms are very outdated and need some renovating. The property itself is beautiful and we found the employees to be very friendly. Beautiful beach! One problem that seems to be a recurring theme is that when we book through orbitz we always get a room with 2 double beds-never a king. Thankfully, the resort changed our room the next morning at our request. Overall-food was good, staff was friendly, beach and pools were great. I would suggest upgrading to the VIP package if possible

Convenient,close to the beach, good food, very nice staff. The price was very good, we always find the best deals at Orbitz! The restaurants don't have a/c, there were other minor issues but we had a good time , very nice pools, the staff is great! I would rate it 3.5 stars instead of 4 .

the hotel tropical princes on punta cana is excelente it instalations are very good, the staf is the best all the staf people are perfect

The room initially asigned was full of mold. Second room was better but all our friends rooms had some moldy smell whenever you enter the room. Most of the staff were not attentive and lacking basic skills (restaurants, bars, reception)for hospitality industry. Room towels not very clean, Very difficult to get and change the beach towels. We had better experiences, including in Punta Cana. The beautiful beach compensated for everything else.
