Vacation Time!
Remarkable 7 days in paradise!
We had plans to go on vacation in the states, but or plans were changed at the last minute and couldn't go on our already planned vacation. We booked this trip less than a day before the trip!The entire process was painless[...]! Our flight and hotel definitely lived up to our expectations! This was our second trip to Punta Cana and this hotel is definitely worth the money! It's only 20 minutes from the Airport, a very refreshing feeling after a long plane flight. Do yourself a favor and get the swim up rooms, they are spectacular! The hotel REALLY enforces the "Adults only aspect", a family of four some how wondered into the pool and within 5 minutes hotel security was escorting them out!

Dominican addict
The most relaxing vacation
Our stay started off horrible and we thought about changing hotels. The staff was not very accomidating or friendly the first couple of days. We found out that it was a Dominican holiday and the regular staff was mostly on vacation. After the regular staff came back it was perfect. They were much friendlier and very upbeat. The rooms are spotless and the funiture was clean and felt new. The room towels and beach towels were plush and soft. There was no limit to how many beach towels you could use. The beach was clean and the chairs and beds were comfortable. No need to go down early and "reserve" your chairs unless you have to have the front row view. All the chairs are staggered so you have a view anyway. Loved that you could have drinks served to you beach and poolside. They even went around with trays of pizza at lunch time. The food at the regular buffets was OK. The food at the most of the a la carts was fantastic. The Brazilian and Mexican were just OK. I recomend the Japanese tables not the grill. You choose your food at the tables and at the grill you get what they make. Reservations are a must, and they are easy to make with the butler. Stay out of the casino. The machines are in spanish and they do NOT pay. The tables are empty. The ipod music station does not have the adapters, so bring your own cords or or plug in adapter or they are useless. The wall sockets are universal TWO prong only. Bring an adapter for your computer if it is a 3 prong. The a la carts are not in the Royal section, so be prepared to walk FAR or ask your butler for a golf cart. The hotel Train doesn't go to the Royal rooms for pick ups. The spa has a free section inside the glass doors. IT IS HEAVEN. The water therapy is to die for. Just bring a pool towel with you when you go. You could stay there as long as you want. The staff at the spa does not speak or understand English.

Next to the hotel are local shops. Your prices start high and you "haggle" down to a 10th of the price. They will pull you into their shops from the beach. So if you do not want to be bothered do not walk in that direction.

Have been to P.C. 13 X one of the best !
If you are traveling without children it is so worth paying the extra money to stay at the Royal Suites Turquesa portion of the compound. You have a room steward to radio a ride for you if you don't want to walk, they are there to help you in any way, they give you their extension to their phone which they keep on them while they are on duty which is about 16-18 hours per day, champagne and other top shelf drinks are available. You are treated like a VIP !

Pack a thermal jug to keep you drink cold while outside and a tupperware type of drink container to put the bottled (safe) water to use for brushing you teeth and washing off tooth brush each day. Pack misc. medicine cabinet stuff @ tums,bandaides,advil,immodium,lots of high SPF sunscreen and flip flops sand gets very hot at beach.

The Royal Suites Turquesa by Palladium
Not 5 star accomodation, need to ask for extra toweles in the room, robs are to small, lock of understanding from staff. Only one buttler [...] was very helpfull and speek english. Restaurants on the resort are not good at all. End up eating in the Gourment only, but food was always overcooked and served cold. You can order duck and get a lamb. Overage was a good location and beach, but service not a 5 star hotel. We had a better experience in Mexico = Excelense or Valentin
