Family Vacation

Good value for the money. Great food. Huge property--be ready to do some walking. Shuttles are available that runs the entire length of property. The shows at night are pretty entertaining. Be certain to purchase your round trip transportation to and from airport when booking trip. Will visit this resort in near future.

Bad experience

i've been to this property 4 times including this year. never had a problem till now. new management i heard. not only I but a few other people cut their feet at the pool for poor mainteance. there were broken tiles not only in the pool with the bar by the beach but also in the other side where the kiddie size pool is. this is extremely dangereous being that any disease could be caught. i have a bad cut on my big toe that is still healing and i got cut two friday's ago, today being thursday. needless to say my vacation was ruined. i had to stay in my room 5days of my vacation with my foot elavated and out of the sun and water. the hotel did nothing to comp my lost time due to their negligence. im never going there again!

Best Beach - Awesome Property

To be honest - unless you are on a romantic dinner and really want someone to serve you... the only restaurant to get to that is a better experience than the buffet is the Japan restaurant - here you will get a good show and good food that you can't get at the normal buffet.

Family vacation

This is an absolutely enormous hotel... so prepare to take shuttles around the hotel to get to restaurants, the beach, etc. But the facilities are excellent all around. Staff was very nice the only complaint is that the food isn't great, and can be not even good in some cases. The ala cart restaurants were pretty good though. But make your reservations for the whole week the first day you are there. Also, bring an insulated cup with a lid and look like the other pros at this resort so you can comfortably drink yourself into oblivion while floating around the pool without worrying about spilling. The water park for the kids is also great and there are lots of other activities for kids too. We didn't have any trouble staying entertained with a 3 and 5 year old.

punta cana Grand Bahia principe Bavaro

very nice and clean resort, great landscape, excellent beach, very well maintained facility, plenty of food almost for 18 hours away you can find a food somewhere in the resort but the quality of food is similar to what you get on cruise ship, the staff is great,a little bit far from the airport( 30 minutes). nothing in the local area around the resort but a day tour to Santo Domingo is a good idea and worth the money. the negative thing about Punta Cana is the lack of shopping and contact with the local area,it is great if you like to stay in the resort kill time on the beach and eat and drink unlimited amount of the same thing every day otherwise go another place.

Good for a relaxing getaway

Great resort if you're looking to get out of daily life and relax in an exotic environment. Almost nothing to worry about as food/drinks and pools/beach are included. If you're looking to explore the Dominican Republic, that is not the place to be as it is far from everything, and is mainly a tourist destination. The hotel is HUGE with multiple villas and a bunch of pools/restaurants. The french restaurant was pretty average, the japanese is definitely the way to go (you get 3 restaurant reservations per week of stay). The open buffet is decent, hit or miss really, but the fact that it is almost always open is pretty cool. The rooms are big and clean, but not amazingly comfortable. The staff is mostly helpful, a lot of people trying to sell you on a lot of stuff though, continuously. I noticed this being a habit in the Dominican Republic in general. We didn't go on any excursions or "adventures" but if you want to I'd personally recommend doing prior research as the options offered at the hotel seemed like a scam (too expensive for what they really are) to us.

Great Winter Getaway

The staff and all personnel were very friendly. They always greeted you with a smile and a big "HOLA" and were ready to help in any way. We went snorkeling and swam with "toothless" sharks & stingrays on one excursion. Then spent the rest of our time enjoying the resort. There was always some sort of entertainment to get you up dancing & having fun or you could just relax & enjoy the beautiful weather.

Be sure to make your dinner reservations for the "special" dinners as soon as you arrive at the resort. The restaurants get booked up quickly.
