Destination Wedding

If you are going to relax and have a few drinks, the VIP upgrade is highly recommended. With the basic all inclusive, you are limited to two canned beers in your fridge a day unless you pay. Otherwise, it will be draft Presidente only for cervesas and their version of rail liquors for cocktails. The food is the usual buffet standards, but we did have good meals at the Italian themed and Seafood themed restaurants. They were leanient about seating you without reservations, but remember your meal ticket. My room pretty much was identical to the pictures which was surprising to me, and it had 100 tv channels which seemed a bit unnecessary with such a beautiful beach and other things to do. It was by the lobby while most of my group was by the beach. Although my room was by far better in style and had a double waterfall shower than those by the beach, I did not have one warm shower all week where my friends did. All in all, it was a good, not great resort, and you pretty much get what you are willing to pay for. My biggest suggestion is to bring lots of $1 bills for tips. It is a challenge to get change, and tips are pretty much essential here if you want any sort of decent service.

Punta Cana good, bad and evil.

Punta Cana beach is lovely and the water is good for swimming. The hotel food and drinks were very good also and maid service were excellent. However they do have a bunch of sales people trying to sell you a timeshare the whole time you are there. I finally had to be rude and tell them I was not interested and had the right to enjoy my vacation. I had to do that several times particularly around the buffet area. Went on a Monster truck excursion it was worth the money. Lots of haggling on prices of excursions can be made. Do not make ground transportation paid 90 dollars and they us up in an old van hardly no air conditioning. Then they hand you an appt with the excursion people another sales tactic. Did not go through them when I tried to book my ride back they told me to call a number which cost me 2 bucks out of my room a local call. That number told me just to call one day before to set my ride. When I did that I got the rudest man Senior Aldente who was really mad I had not met with him and told me off like I had some contract with him. After I was very insistent and told him his office had told me to call one day before , he called me a liar. I asked him when are you going to pick me up as I have paid 90 dollars for ground transportation. He called the hotel with a time for me, never spoke to me. I don't think I will ever go back to Punta Cana. The people are nice but they are always expecting tips even when it is all inclusive. Think I will stick US travel don't recommend going to Punta Cana.

When you go to the buffets if they harass you about the timeshare tell them your going to buy it off of ebay their are a ton of timeshares on there for at least 80 percent of what they are trying to trap you in.

Great Value resort!

Very clean, excellent landscaping, a combination of privacy and crowded resort. You will find your "place" in Bavaro Princess, if you like silence or latin parties or good quality food and definetly excellent clean beach and ocean.

Honeymoon

They advertise wifi availability for a rate per day or for platinum members the cost is per stay. Unfortunately the IT department is a nightmare, they claim their systems are down every day and within one week one modem was returned which is crazy that they don't have more available for the size of the resort. Also they shouldn't advertise it like crazy because it was a major reason I picked this resort. Another negative for us was there was a major ant problem located by all the wood framing in the room. The water pressure and hot water is pretty nonexistent. This resort is big so it's a lot of walking and the trolleys take forever for pickups. Other then that the staff besides IT was amazing and very friendly. The buffet was the better food at the resort comparing to the restaurants. The beach is great and huge and the pool is also big with the swim up bar. We only left the resort to go to dinner at a sister resort Punta Cana Princess which seemed nice but they had a major flooding in the roads when we went there. Our resort had a very little flooding in roadway compared to other resort. The room was a good size and nice patio. We ordered room service which was punctual and okay choices in food. Also entertainment was pretty good!

Awesome vacation

Loved my stay. A great place to stay. The food was delicious. The staff kept me entertained any happy from the first moment I entered. While on an excursion to see the countryside, I went horse back riding (my first time). Planning to return very soon.

Outstanding Honeymoon!!!

Hands down one of my best vacations ever. The staff was excellent. From the concierge, bar tenders, waiters, room service, etc;. I would recommend anyone to stay here. The room we stayed in was the diplomatic suite! ***** stars!!!. Beach was perfect. The only con was the desserts, most of the food wasn't good with a few exceptions. You could go here on your honeymoon, cause everything is set up to a couples like, but the one con is this is a place for a kids and adults so you will see plenty kids. Overall I would highly recommend staying at the Bavaro Princess Suites!!! Ask for Jhonny, he's great!!!

If you want to lose weight, vacation here.

Good - Beach, Platinum Suite So,So - Staff - for the most part if you are American they stick their noses up at you. I even speak a fair amount of Spanish and that didn't even make too much of a difference. And we tip so who knows. Bad - the food was probably the most horrible food I have ever eaten. The buffet was horrible and most of the A la Carte restaurants were gross too and we are NOT picky eaters. The Italian restaurant was good though as was the staff there. Also - when we got there the beach towels were in the room on the jacuzzi so that's where we left them when we checked out. Our room was right across from Platinum reception so we told them we left the towels in the room if they wanted to check. So one of the guys said ok no problem but then I saw the other one write down that we didn't return towels (sorry buddy this American knows Spanish!) and tried to charge us for them. So I firmly told them AGAIN that they towels were right where we found them if they wanted to check and no we didn't take them...so then they took it off. We will not be staying here again. Adios!

Ups and downs

Best check in experience EVER!! well beyond my expectations. Although I arrived at around 1pm they had my room and package ready to go. That same day I had just checked out of 5 stars Riu Palace PC, and B princess topped them by far in check in process. I absolutely loved the rooms, very comfortable, EXCEPT for the location of my particular room which door faced what seemed to be a sewer system treatment plant just outside the facility. The horrible smell was unbearable, and it penetrated right through the door cracks. But as soon as I went to the front desk they relocated me in a very timely fashion. Food needs improvement, and variety was extremely limited for some meals. The Dominican night buffet was extraordinary!! and the show for that night was very thrilling especially for returning Dominicans as myself. The smoking was very annoying in the buffet, and the smokers area was so close to the smoke free, it was like a joke. Many foreigners especially Europeans were extremely rude and impolite. Didn't bother to try the theme restaurants, as some of them were not included. Overall good experience, great value for price. They just seriously need to do something about that smell around building 22.

Time-saving tip: Long walk from hotel

use of local transportation system is almost imperative, since the place is huge. Manage your time well, and when getting on the commuting train, indicate your building number to the driver in the front, so they can stop near it, otherwise you'll find yourself walking a lot. ALSO, watch your steps in bedroom, it gets pitch black once lights go off outside.
