Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe - All Inclusive

was NOT told when booked that you can only eat at specialty restaurants 4 days out of 7.Had to eat at buffet.Food at buffet as well as restaurants was always cold.This is a health issue.Food should be hot. Most of the workers do not speak English.Very difficult to communicate with them.

I had one of the best trips ever, aside from the food quality that needs a little improvement, it was aces in my book, I will recommend upgrading to the club premuim, you pay $30 and you get a $45 bottle of Rum and a $30 free dinner at the French restaurant, great place!!!!!

The club premium staff were very professional and friendly. However i was not pleased with the photographer who took us to saona island. I purchased the video and photos, CD AND DVD but i didnt see any of the pictures we took at the beach. Benson, our tour guide was fantastic, he did a great job. Room service was not punctual, i missed my breakfast twice because they took too long, 45 to an hour wait time. That was unacceptable for a five star resort. But overall, the resort is beyond greatness. Andy, the rep from cheap tickets was fantastic.

I arrived at the Resort on a Friday and was pleasantly surprised!. Barceló Bavaro Palace Resort was simply beautiful! The Resort appeared to be newly built but I later found that is over 2 decades old. There is so much to do or you can simply spend time at one of the 9 pools or on the beach which is walking distance from your room. We also toured other resorts which was lots of fun too. The hotel was not kind with the towels so you will have to let them know to bring you fresh towels and not just one when there’s more than one person in the room. We had to call them every day to bring us face towels and they would not give use a clean towel unless we gave them the dirty one (That was really annoying because we showered at least twice a day). The food at the buffet which is a part of the all inclusive package was not very good. They had a large variety of food but nothing appeased me. I enjoyed going to the dine in restaurant where you have to make reservations (Kyoto, Halo (no reservation needed but good food)). The alcohol there is not premium and it has a slight after taste (not good at all)!. While we were there we enjoyed the U-Spa, Disco, & site seeing. Over all I would defiantly return and dine at the restaurant that I know that has good food.

The grounds, the beach, the pool and the buildings were beautiful, clean, and well-kept. The only problems I encountered were with the below-average food and sometimes dismissive service. The front desk and concierge desks were awesome and staffed with very helpful people. The restaurant staff and some of the bar staff were the ones I had some issues with such as not acknowledging orders, very slow service, and sometimes a being less than friendly. Overall, if you’re looking to relax on a beautiful beach and not having to worry about paying for any of the essentials I would definitely recommend this resort.

I decided to take a last minute trip to the Dominican Republic. This was my first time visiting so I based my hotel decision on value and reviews from previous guests. The hotel at first glance did not look too impressive when I first arrived. However, the more I saw of the property the better I appreciated it. I stayed in a golf room. The resort covers a lot land so my room felt as if it was pretty far away from the primary check-in location of the hotel. This was not a problem for me accept on the nights I returned to my room really late. The room was clean and any problems that I had were addressed quickly by hotel staff. The hotel was right on the beach with a lot of activities occurring throughout the day. Although I went alone i enjoyed myself and I am sure a couple or family would have even more fun. I must say though, it is important to leave the resort in order to really get a chance to experience the Dominican Republic culture and people. The main issues I had with the hotel was the food and the language barrier. The food was mediocre at best. Although it is an all inclusive, the hotel restricts the nights that you are allowed to eat at the restaurants and only allows you to access to the buffets on the other nights. For 4 nights I was only allotted 2 meal tickets to eat a restaurant. I was able to talk one of the hotel employees into another tickets, so I had a chance to eat at three of the restaurants. Best bet is the Japanese Restaurant. It was very good. The buffets were hard for me to eat at. There were a lot of flies and the food just was not appetizing. Most mornings I stuck to the boiled eggs and fruit for breakfast. If you don't speak Spanish be prepared to struggle when speaking to many of the workers. Their lack of understanding of how to correctly use English makes them appear to come off rude. If you can find someone who speaks good English it is a good idea to befriend them so that they will always be there to help you.

Ignore the bad posts this place is great. Clean. friendly staff ok food.

I did not get the room I reserved. I reserved a room with one king size bed, but I get 2 queen sizes. it is mentioned as ocean view but the ocean can hardly be seen because it is quite far and of the trees. Overall I liked the place though.

Exelent place, beach. The service is great and the restaurants too.
