It was ok!!!

I hated the hotel room! i wish i could've turn back time with the knowledge of the room and not rent it...and i paid for 2 of them....the main thing that makes your hotel OK!!! is the animation group and the fact that the liqour is include...(which i think that is watered down!!) i traveled from NY so my family and my cousin family which i invited (and paid for) CAN HAVE A GOOD TIME...but now i know to try a different hotel or a different location..u guys really need to look into the rooms and consider making repairs.

so much fun!!!!

we had a great time, no problems and would defintely go back again and again....only suggestions: 1-add an ATM somewhere on the resort for extras like snorkeling and tips to extrodinary staff, better wine especially at the reservation dinners than the buffet just to set it apart a bit ( I am not really a wine person but box-wine is better than this stuff), and less salt in the cooked veggies and soups .....but really these were small things and we had the best vacation we could have asked for!!

We basically just hung out by the pool and beach and relaxed while the kids played in the pool. We have been to riu mambo before and it is our favorite resort. The service is good. The staff is always pleasant and happy to talk to you especially the bartenders. overall our stay was great

worth every dollar

this was a first for me, all inclusive getaway and it was marvelous. The staff were appreciative of the business and very accomodating. The food was fresh and expertly prepared. The pool was gorgeous. My room with a small balcony was clean and well taken care of. This was my first trip to the Domincan Rep and not my last. I will return to this same place next year.

I did leave the resort to check out the country side and I did not feel threatened or felt my life was in danger. The rural people were very hospitable . Yes, they are dirt poor but still welcomed you to their town.I should included that I do speak Spanish .

What's not to like! Great Value.

Best vacation we ever had. The staff was wonderful, very friendly and helpful. Had trouble with ground transportation and [...] ant the front desk went out of his way to assist. The food was very good almost every meal. Experience a wide variety that would suit almost enyone. Service, especially [...], was first rate. The bar personnel were great and tried to please, especially [...]. Overall, I was very impressed with the cleaniness and the great facilities, much more than I could have expected for the money.

Come for the View, Not the Food

The staff were nice enough, but they did not go over and above to help with simple questions. For example, the only ATM at the hotel did not work for days and each time I asked the reception desk about the status, they would tell me unapologetically that my only option was to take a cab into the city that would cost me about $150! The food was nothing to get excited about, despite the fact that I had access to not only my resort, but the two others on the ground. Each restaurant offered the same foods and nothing tasted great. That said, the grounds are beautiful, it's right by the beach which is a great plus and aside from what I mentioned before, the staff were nice.

Very Average

The trip was alittle disapointing. The transportation from the airport to the resort was nothing short of horrible. After stopping to drop people off at stop number two, we (my family & friends) had to get off the bus we were on, get all our luggage off and transport it to another bus for the remainder of the trip. I have stayed at Riu's two of the last three years. A couple of things that bothered me was the lack of small ammenities at this riu. Simple things like no hair dreyers in the rooms.A terrible thing for my wife. No iron or ironing boards. Went to the front desk to inquire, was told not enough to go around but would give me one for a day. The lady went behind the counter came out with an iron and ironing board handed it to me and said they needed it back by noon the next day. Couldn't they have delivered it? I had called a week early to try and secure my mother in law a room on the first floor and as close to the pool and dining rooms as possible as she needs a walker to get around. They told me they would arrange it. Upon arrival we received our rooms and my mother in-laws was the next to the last building away from the pool and dining areas. So as you can see this was not a positive experience and I'm not sure if I'll return to any Riu's. John From RI

Riu Mambo not like other Riu's

Too many rules. They put out cold cuts for those who get up between 10 and 11:30. No condiments. I asked for Mustard in two different locations, once with the empty bottle in my hand, and was told I had to wait till 12PM. I couldn't get towel at any of the other hotels with my Mambo card. Then, returning towels, I receive a Buchata card. I try to get Cappachino in one of the open kiosks, not open till 10 am??? This has never happened in Playa del Carmen or Cabo. Not happy, will never go back.
