Average hotel with problems.

My significant other and I booked a vacation deal through this site. We were both very excited till we boarded the first plane which had some mechanical issues. After sitting in the plane for about an hr, they got got us another plane and issued us a 7 usd voucher for food, which was nice but we had a connecting flight in Miami which we missed due to this problem. The airline rebooked us to the next flight which was 4 hours later. We missed about a day of our vacation because of the airline. We contacted the car rental and this hotel letting them know that we will be late and they both said it will be alright. We arrived at the hotel exhausted and wanted to get some sleep and get an early start the next day. We arrive at the counter, told them our names and reservation number and they said that our reservations were not in the system and that they might not have a room for us. We explained that we called earlier in the day and what has happened and the clerk says he just started his shift and doesnt know what is going on. We were then asked to wait while the clerk helped other customers. We waited for about an hour till everyone else was helped and we finally got a room. We were too tired so we decided to take care of the issue in the morning after breakfast. Breakfast was normal, if you consider using the serving spoons after local birds feed off the left overs. After talking to multiple people, nothing was "solved". I am sure others had a better experience than we've had. But that wasnt our case.
