Valamar Club Dubrovnik

This was one of the best trips I have ever been on. The hotel is in a fantastic location, with close proximity to the beach and beautiful views of the sea. The hotel has a friendly and relaxing atmosphere and the staff couldn't do enough to help you. The rooms were very clean and there was maid service every day. The food was buffet service and there was a good variety of food each day. The swimming pool area is well kept and I really enjoyed having a swim in the pool there. Buses go by the hotel regularly to the Old Town and it takes about ten minutes. The coastal path which runs adjacent to the hotel is also very picturesque and I recommend walking it - lots of little bars along the way!! A really relaxing holiday in a beautiful location with lots to do in the area - will definitely go back!!

We stayed at the Valamar Club in Dubrovnik the last week of September to the 1st October 2012. What a fabulous holiday in Croatia we had which was made all the better for staying at the Valamar Club. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the food was exceptionally good with numerous choices catering for every like along with options of fish/meat/vegetarian choices. All the food was freshly cooked with no reguritated options and different selections every meal throughout the duration of the week stay. All meals are buffett style and include an in house pizza bar and outside seating and grill area. The all inclusive light package was particularly good value and if you have day trips planned the kitchen staff readily pack a lunch bag for you so you don't loose out on the lunch option. These packed lunches are huge and include filled baps, fresh fruit, pretzels, biscuits and juice and bottled water. The hotel staff cannot do enough to make your stay as enjoyable and relaxing as possible. We have never been to Croatia before this trip and can highly recomed it. It is a beautiful country and has stunning scenary, rich culture and history with plenty to do and see. The beaches are pebbled and the waters are crystal clear. The weather while we were there was hot without being unbearable and a lovey breeze coming from the mountains refreshed the air. We were told September/October are lovely months to go as the tempreture is cooler thn at the height of the season, however still hot enough to sunbathe by the pool. Plenty of sunbeds/shades to be had, no fighting for these or needing to get up at the crack of dawn to try to reserve a bed! The pool is huge however cold! Beach is just beyond the pool and the sea water was warmer to swim in at the beach. The entertainment was varied and included a dedicated entertainment team who put on shows/events during the day and evenings. There are also live musicians entertaining the guests which was also enjoyable. Some must do's are - walking the city walls - spectacular views, going up in the cable car - boat trip to the surrounding islands and a visit to Cavtat .Also a visit to the old city simply stunning. I would recomend Croatia and the Valamar hotel to anyone considering going. You couldn't ask for more from this resort/hotel. For those with mobility issues it may be too hilly and could prevent some sightseeing opportunities. We will be returning without a doubt and would consider hiring a car to visit nearby Montenegro and Bosnia which equally looked very inviting destinations. If you go for this holiday you will not be dissapointed. Enjoy!

Would recommend this hotel to families and couples. Beware that the hotel is at the bottom of a hill but every coastal part of Croatia is either at the top or bottom of a hill! Lots to do if you fancy staying in the hotel grounds e.g. basketball, tennis, swimming in hotel pool etc. Not a bad base for touring from. The all inclusive food option worked out well as the food was fresh and most of it prepared in front of you. Beach at the back of the hotel complex (very near). Overall a good value stay in Dubrovnik. ps. August is a bit on the hot side for visiting Dubrovnik circa 35*

Food and drinks good in all inclusive -service. Limited all inclusive -timitables. Good service personel.

Friendely and helpful staff, English spoken, good selection at buffets for breakfast and dinner. Not within walking distance from main attractions, but good local buss service (buss 6),takes you straight to Oldtown. Wakling distance to beach. Would stay there again

Hotellissa ruokatarjoilu oli ruhtinaallista. Pidin erityisesti kalaruuista. Pieni miinus viikon lomalla oli se, että hotellin ulkoaltaalle pääsin uimaan vasta kolmena viimeisenä lomapäivänä. Olemme valmiita tulemaan hotelliin vastedeskin. Jussi Syvänen.

Vastaanotto oli upea ja hotelli viihtyisä. Ihmiset olivat aidon ystävällisiä ja ruoka hyvää.Aion tulla uudestaan Dubrovnikiin ja luultavasti jopa samaan hotelliin.

Hotellin sijainti erinomainen, ympäröivä puistoalue hyvin hoidettu ja maisemat henkeä salpaavat. Henkilökunta ystävällistä ja ruoka monipuolista. Suosittelen kaikille, jotka haluavat nauttia rauhallisesta ja silti hauskasta lomasta.

Markustusaikani oli 15.4. - 22.4. Huoneestani oli upea merinäköala pohjoiseen, joten nyt aurinko ei paistanut koskaan parvekkeelleni, mikä taas kesäaikaan on varmaan etu. Huone oli hyvin siisti ja lämpötila sopiva. Ilmastointi toimi. All inclusive -palvelu toimi erinomaisesti, ruoka oli hyvää ja monipuolista. henkilökunta ystävällistä. Uima-allasta laitettiin kuntoon alkuviikon ajan, mutta 18.4. alkaen se oli käytettävissä, tosin vesi oli kylmää. Samoin kunnostettiin hotellin puutarhaa ja ympäristöä alkavaa sesonkia varten. 4-5 km päässä vanhasta kaupungista, mutta bussipysäkille n. 10 min. kävelymatka. Bussi kulki 15 min. välein. Korkeuseroja, puistomainen ympäristö, 150-200 m päässä pieni ostoskeskus ja ravintoloita. Matkaviikollani hotellissa oli useita kymmeniä n. 10-13 -vuotiaita lapsia, joita kuulemma valmennettiin vesipalloilussa. Heitä näin lähinnä ruokailuaikaan, käyttäytyivät hyvin. Liikunnallista ohjelmaa tarjolla päivittäin ja musiikkia iltaisin.
