Tamarindo Diria Beach and Golf Resort

Great hotel...rooms were clean...super walkable to everything in town (food, parties, stores, etc)...right next to the beach/beachfront...breakfast was good most days with plenty of options...Staff was really nice always...2 pools on the property...were given great food, nightlife and activity recommendations...Overall a GREAT hotel!

Great location and amenities, but service was lacking. The restaurants had good good but the service was slow. Once you got service it was good, but you usually had to flag someone down first. Their policy on having friends over sucks, meaning you can't! Everyone has a wrist band who stays there and if your friends don't have it they can't be in the amenities area which seems dumb. It usually depends on which guard is working. On that note you do feel very secure there as there are guards all over the place.

I've stay here before and it's always be a positive experience...You have to be ready for the slow pace of service, but they're not "tip" oriented like people in the US... Beautiful location and setting..

we had room across street from main hotel with a beautiful mirror pool which was usually pretty empty. It was amazing seeing the Howler Monkeys. The restaurant and lounge were across the street, very beautiful but for most of the week reeked SKUNK!!

Can't beat location...butt...don't take your golf clubs if you are going to depend on this location!...there is a golf course...butt...it's not on Direa property!...it's twenty minutes away at Hacienda Pinnelle...great course!...two ocean holes that rival California views!...if you are there to surf or just enjoy the ocean...fantastic!...best in morning as sun this close to equeator is a bit intense... great food (especially fish) within walking distance...and the breakfast on site is incrediable!...born and raised in Santa Monica...now living in Bakersfield, Ca...this site and beach remind me of Santa Monica 1950's...staff is very cordial and friendly...language not a problem...had a great time...return...less likely...have two daughters in San Diego...can get great beach time there!...never felt uncomfortable walking on beach or streets at night...great swimming pools at hotel...great views...great place...later...Howdy Miller

The staff at the hotel was the best. From the front desk to the cleaning staff everyone was helpful. The rooms are very nice and you just can't beat the location. The food at the hotel, while not gourmet, was very good and the waiters could not have been any nicer. I have traveled through out Europe and the islands and I would stack this hotel up aginst any of them. I would not hesitate to recommend the Tamarindo Diria to anyone.

This hotel is nothing like advertised. The rooms are cheap, no ventilation. I visited several rooms and there was a constant sewer smell in all of them. The A/C in the room was noisy and there was some other whirring sound going on that I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. The staff at the front desk were outright rude at times. They gave me a ticket for towels at the poolside along with the room key, and during checkout demanded the ticket back or $20 for losing the ticket, even though I had not used the ticket or gotten any towels. The food isn't worth the money either, the breakfast hashbrowns were stiff, the eggs oily and the bread was hard and dry (they had a fan blowing right in front of it). I could go on and on about the dirt on the floors, the walls, etc. but suffice to say I am not going back here again. Absolutely the worst part of my Costa Rican experience.

I chose this hotel because I wanted to stay some where nice while scouting out CR as a place to possibly retire in a few years. Well CR is not for me (too 3rd world) but the hotel and the staff were very nice. I felt at home the entire time. Just as a word of advice, if you go to CR during the rainy season, just know that mud runs into the ocean from the connecting rivers and the ocean water is muddy. Not a good site to see. Also, the sand is gray/brown in color but very fine and feels good under your feet.

This hotel was wonderful and beautiful! It is located right on the beach. We stayed in a Sunset Ocean View room and it was amazing. Wonderful buffet breakfast included with tons of options. The pools were great too! Would definitely recommend this hotel!

The staff at this hotel was so kind and respectful, we felt at home. Prior to arriving to our hotel, we stopped at a supermarket to pick up some snacks (as suggested by our cab driver). Since we were on a bit of a budget, we would eat the breakfast at the hotel (included with your stay) , munch on sandwiches mid day, then FEAST at the local restaurants at night. The breakfast was definitely filling. The rooms themselves were ordinary. The hotel is beachfront, and has amazing view. Close to night life. Great stay!
