Excellent hotel very clean and really nice staff, the only problem i see is the breakfast it wasnt at the level all the other things were, was good but beside that the experience was wonderful, the hotel is placed in a really good spot in the center of san José with a lot of restaurants and places to see, I highly recommend this hotel. Recommended for a night in San Jose
This was a great choice for our last night, giving us a chance to explore the city a bit. The staff were all very nice: good bartenders/baristas. The breakfast and coffee was the best we had in CR. It will be perfect when they open the full-service restaurant, as currently the bar/lounge/dining area is shared with the lobby.

President Obama
Due to the president's visit a lot of the roads around the hotel were closed. The friendly staff did an amazing job making sure I got to my destinations quickly and avoided road closures. The hotel is beautiful and very secure. The location is central to everything except the airport and I felt quite safe walking the area. (although this may have been because of the expanded police presence due to the President's visit.) Overall well worth the price.

quiet room in a busy area
After touring around the country, a nice place to enjoy the city : museum and good restaurants nearby. High traffic (car and foot) area, the hotel was clean, and felt safe. The room was tranquil and quiet with no outside noise. Local crafts nearby for souvenirs. Enjoyed a facial and massage at the spa...nice!!!!!!

excellent downtown location
Location is right on the pedestrian mall and next to a kfc fast food restaurant. Rather spartan quarters, but adequate. Nice buffet breakfast and the staff was attentive. I was impressed that the desk provided stamps gratis for my postcards. Was really great that I didn't have to be bothered about getting stamps and finding a post drop. I really liked that. I would stay at the Hotel Presidente again.
