Very convenient. Close to airport and restarants, stores
The hotel is very clean. Price is good and staff is top shelf! shuttle is on time every few minutes. It is located next to nice resterants and car rentals.

Stop-over through to Tambor
We stayed at this hotel both coming in to San Jose, and leaving San Jose. Overall its a nice hotel, the staff was great, and the morning hot breakfast was tasty. My biggest complaint was the bed, hard a rock! Both times we had terrible sleeps due to this, and it didn't make our early morning flights any easier!

This is the perfect transit point for the San Jose airport when you arrive on a late flight, or depart on an early flight. Super friendly staff!

Very American Amenities
This is a great place to get "grounded" before or after your trip to more rustic places in Costa Rica. I'm going to make it a tradition to have my first and last night stays here. So close to the airport and has shuttle service so you don't have to worry about getting in with a bad taxi driver late at night (happened to me last time I came in at night). The staff was very helpful, they have a concierge type service that will help you book cars, buses, tours, get sim cards, etc. The room was clean and comfortable. The price may be a little higher than others but worth it for convenience and "ahhhh" feeling I had, feels like hotels at home. Not an authentic Costa Rican experience but great place to transition and get in the groove (or out) without anxiety.

Not all hotels in Costa Rica have solid WIFI. It's good to get a data card - (looks like a USB thumb drive, it holds a SIM card from local phone company- Kolbi. It allows you to use 3G data service for internet access without WIFI - KOLBI I bought mine here but cost $60 I'm sure if you bring it from states it should be much be cheaper. You can get sim card from the Kolbi booth at the airport or Kolbie stores in town but data card is harder to find - had to go to electronic store Gollo because no Kolbi stores had one. SIM Cards are cheap- for less than $10 you can have many hours of internet.

Perfect stay next to Juan Santamaria Intl Airport
Stayed one night to catch a morning flight out of Costa Rica the next morning. The room was clean, the staff helpful.

Good for one night
The good: 1) It like most USA hotels. 2) Free phone calls to the USA. 3) Very close to the airport. 4) Denny's right across the street. The bad: 1) More expensive than the Courtyard. 2) Lots of noise from the airport.

Clean! Wonderful bedding.
Great hotel, nice and clean. We stayed here on our last night in CR and were happy with the abundance of hot water and two pillows for each person. (Three kids and two adults in our family; we had to split up and get two rooms which was not great--no cots, only 4 people allowed per room.)

Good Layover
This hotel is well positioned--right next to the airport, but with no noise from planes. The shuttle service is most convenient. There's a Denny's just across the driveway. It's an ideal place to get a good night's sleep before boarding a plane.

You can pay for and obtain your exit visa at this hotel. There is an extra $4 surcharge, but it saves time at the airport--well worth the modest fee.

Good hotel
But so is the Courtyard just down the road and it's brand new and less expensive. The only advantage the Holiday Inn Express has that it serves breakfast and has free phone calls to the USA and Canada.
