New Yorker in Costa Rica
Thinks it's great but it's just overpriced
This hotel is fine. It's clean, it's close to the city and to the airport, the pool is nice, and they even give you cold towels by the pool to make you feel pampered. But it is impossibly overpriced. $25 breakfast for eggs. Pathetic and the eggs should be AMAZING at that price (this coming from a New Yorker). Also, when I ask the front desk about a tour of San Jose I was NOT referred to the tourism desk they have on site, which was hidden, but was told to hire a cab for 3 hrs to be driven around for twice as much as an in-english city tour! That doesn't even begin to explain the poor level of service given here.

I had a one night lay-over in San Jose and was delighted to discover this amazing coffee plantation converted into a luxury hotel –and close to the airport for that early departure. Will stay here every time I am back to SJO!

Nice Hotel
Very Good Hotel. Beautiful Spa. The restaurant is a bit expensive. The guests woke us up 6 am speaking in the hallway loudly. The Building, the staff, the view is very nice and so close to the airport.

Great weekend getaway
My husband and I stayed at the Marriot for the Holiday weekend. The hotel is great and close to the airport and rental car places. The only down side is that breakfast is not included and for the price per night, it should be included. The food is expensive at the hotel restaurant, breakfast will cost you $25/person.

Beautiful resort hotel in a beautiful setting
The location of this resort hotel is perfect for having just arrived in San Jose, or for departing Costa Rica the next day. It is only 3 miles from the airport. A taxi should cost about $10-12. The hotel is beautiful as are the grounds. The rooms are beautifully decorated. When the air conditioning turns on, you hardly notice it. The bed is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in . . . and I am 60 years old, and slept in hundreds of different beds. The grounds are so immaculately maintained that you want to walk around just to appreciate how nice things are. We were there for a "mexican buffet". Wow . . . what a great variety and all of it meticulously prepared. There were many families there, but it is easy to find private areas, and the rooms are virtually soundproof. The very best part of it all was that we were able to get us a room for much less than the rate advertised on the hotel website. People checking in next to us were paying almost three times what we were paying.

This hotel can be a bit tricky to find. Most people use a GPS to find it. Get good directions.

Excellent hotel
Everything at the hotel was perfect. Although the food menu at the hotel restaurant didn't have many dishes, the few they had were really good.
