The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort and Spa

This was a wonderful mother/daughter getaway. The beach was lovely, as was the weather. The staff was extremely helpful with any questions we had. Drinks were delicious. However, as many have stated, need to get up early to reserve a lounge under an umbrella. However, plenty of trees near the pool create shadows/shade if you need to retreat from the sun.

Overall, this is a wonderful hotel and superb location. Make sure to reserve or talk your way into a pool/ocean view or oceanfront room. The other side of the hotel faces a street and you will miss some great sunsets from your balcony. Some of the clearest water and softest sand I have experienced in all vacations. Very easy to get to from the U.S., particularly the East and Midwest. Very safe island and great access to good food and activities. Recommend a snorkel trip or dive. Do yourself a favor and go to a local store and buy some food and drinks for your room as you can also enjoy on the beach if done correctly. Hotel could benefit from more umbrellas. Or reduce the resort fee and charge for umbrellas. We were only able to get a free umbrella one of seven days and you need some coverage there as the sun is very strong. We rented small cabanas from the neighboring scuba shop. Our bed probably needed updating as well as the mattress was not as great as other Westins. In all, these were minor setbacks at a great hotel with phenomenal views on Seven Mile Beach. Thank you for a great stay.

Only drawback is the extra hidden fees that they charge.

We found this hotel to be perfectly situated along the best part of Seven Mile Beach. It was not crowded, but clean and perfect for young children to have room to play in the sand and swim in the calm ocean. We were able to walk to several restaurants (food is generally quite good on the island). The hotels rooms are a bit on the small side but suited our needs just fine. We had a lovely partial ocean view on the top floor with a generous patio for drying out our scuba gear. A great stay!

The hotel is modern, comfortable, and the staff is friendly. terrific beach location, nice pool, good size rooms. Worth it to pay extra for a partial beach view, and a balcony. The resort fee not only covers beach towels, etc., but also free Wi-Fi, free local calls, refrigerator in room, etc.

Hands down Grand Cayman is now my favorite Caribbean island that I've been to. Hotel was lovely! Perfect location on Seven Mile Beach! Centrally located with easy access to everything. Hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. Only drawback were the additional taxes and service charges at checkout. For a four-night stay, it cost an additional $200. Otherwise, the perfect getaway.

The location was absolutely beautiful. The beach was clean and there seemed to be enough chairs, but only 16 umbrellas, not nearly enough for how large the hotel is. Rude staff (for the most part. Only 3 that we met were outstanding and friendly.) Very pricey for everything including food, drinks, even water. Everything included a 16% gratuity, which wasn't earned, nor deserved.( And we are big tippers.) No amenities were included except a shuttle into Georgetown twice a day, which wasn't convenient to our schedule and other guests. Housekeeping came very late in the afternoons, and never swept our outside balcony and reused some of our towels. I could go on, but we aren't going back.

I cannot think of one thing to complain about this experience. We were treated with utmost care and respect . Every employee was top notch and we received great service in every way. We highly recommend this resort and plan to visit it again in the future.

The Grand Cayman Westin is an absolutely beautiful resort on a wide stretch of seven mile beach. On site water sport rentals provide anything you want to do from parasailing, paddle boarding, jet skis, kayaks, etc. with a very professional and friendly staff. There is a great reef for snorkeling right off the hotel where the fish 'school' around you. The live music every happy hour was a plus. We never ate at the on-site restaurant, it was a little out of the way and did not feel that inviting. There were many places to eat within a 1/2 mile walking distance. Great place for teenagers.
