Great food, good location
This was my second stay there, we had a great experience both times. The food at the Grill was fantastic- I highly recommend the Havanna Chicken and the Fish Tacos. The staff couldn't have been friendlier. The rooms are fairly middle of the road, about what you expect at a normal hotel but the food was exceptional. Good location although not right on the beach but very close. Great snorkeling nearby at Cemetary Beach, we grabbed a few beach chairs from the hotel and had a blast.Great value, not the Ritz but not the Ritz price either. Can't say enough about how good the food was- we really looked forward to every meal we had there. We went to other places on our stay but nothing was better the Sunshine Grill.

Great Hotel for the Price
Can't complain about the clean rooms, the beautiful grounds, the convenient hotel restaurant and the gorgeous beach right across the street. The front desk staff, on the other hand, left much to be desired. They were barely courteous, not friendly, not helpful and not even that nice. They never offered any suggestions, could not accommodate a late check out and didn't even mention the wonderful book of local restaurants (with pictures and menus) when the restaurant we asked them about was booked. I would recommend this hotel to a friend with a disclaimer; prepare to be treated like a nuisance.

Very Satisfied Guests
Great week!
The room was extremely clean and well maintained. Mentioned a small (very small) shower leak to avoid future damage and it was repaired immediately. They care about the property and the grounds are immaculate - nice to have grass to choose from as well as sand! The staff couldn't have been friendlier and any more helpful. Having to cross the highway to get to 7 Mile Beach is a bit of a downer but really not unmanageable-just be patient and cars will stop. First time to Grand Cayman and this was an experience to enjoy!

Great value on Seven Mile Beach
If you're trying to do Grand Cayman on a budget, this is the hotel for you! Great location, friendly and helpful staff. The hotel has beach chairs that you can take with you across the street to a nice, less busy part of Seven Mile Beach.

In Hotel
The Sunshine Grill offers some of the best food on the island, but it's VERY popular. If you want to avoid a long wait, opt for a late lunch/early dinner. Loved their Mojitos!

Ok place to stay
This is just like a hotel room but with a 2 burner stove, a refrigerator, and a microwave. We stayed in the studio which is small. We were on the 3rd floor with no elevators and two suitcases that both weighed about 45 lbs a piece. So you can imagine the fun of lugging your bags up 3 flights of stairs! The pool is very small and is right up against the sunshine grill restuarant. Really you only have a small side walk between the pool and the door! I really did not like that even though I was staying there I had to make "reservations' to eat at the sunshine grill as they really don't have much seating inside or out! They don't do take out if the restuarant is full...really...OK place I guess for the price.

Take the city bus that only costs $2.50 and can take you all the way to george town. Don't mistake a taxi for a bus...the buses have the yellow circle on the front of the vehicle. We made the mistake of getting a taxi that cost us $15 as they all drive vans!

Sightseeing tip:
Short walk from hotel
Go to the beach at Governor's Beach rather than on the narrow strip by the Westin. Governor's Beach has some shade, is not crowded, and has a great little reef just 100 yards off the shore.

Price wise, really good.
Location was perfect for what we wanted, price was good. We go toNaples Fl allot so with the exchange rate and prices it makes Naples seem cheaper. We will go back but do the exchange up front so it doesn't hurt so much!!

I have never been to the Caymans before and booked the trip in AUG 2012. Who would have thought that the lovely Mother Nature would have other plans. I was to leave on SAT 2/9 and come back WED 2/13. My flight was cancelled Friday 2/12 for SAT and I was told I had to wait to book Sun until Sat sometime when they figured out the weather situation. The hotel told me that they would not just cancel SAT night for me, but had to cancel the whole hotel reservation! Which is what I did and then had to rebook for SUN-WED only. Luckily they had rooms still but the fact they werent empathetic really upset me. Once I got there I was happy with the staff and accomodations. We had to check out at Noon on WED but my flight wasnt until 5p so they held my bags. When i went to get my bags to change, one went missing. They had taken it to another guests room by mistake but it took aout ahalf out to figure that out. They did pay for my taxi then to the airport which I didn think was great and they were very apologetic. All in all, I would go back there and did appreciate their effort to locate my bag and keep me calm.

Sunshine Suites, Cayman Island
Very nice place with a very friendly staff. Clean rooms and site, convenient good restaurant and nice grounds. About a 3 block walk to the beach and they furnish towels and beach chairs. Buses can be caught just a block away, next to the liquor store. Also walking distance to Governor's mansion, good restaurants and grocery stores. They were able to book us with a great tour to Sting Ray City. The front desk is very accommodating, especially a fellow from Goa, India, named Renoir. The room had a fridge and stove that helped on the high food prices in Cayman. About the only drawback is the room did not have safe, so we had to get into a queue to get one of lockboxes at the desk. (Fewer lockboxes than rooms.) Other not being right on the beach, if that is your desire, this a a very nice place to stay.

Ate a place called Chicken Chicken. It is a rung or two above a fast food place, but great wood roasted jerk chicken and plenty of sides.
