Out With The 613
First time was fun, second time was uninspiring
I stayed this weekend and the staff was inexperienced. The clierk felt it necessary to explain to me, three times, how a credit card hold works, even though I didn't ask him... THe room had exactly 4 coat hangers (three plastic, and one metal). When I called down for more, I was informed that the hotel only allocates 4 per room. Has there never been a couple stay there before???? There was no radio or iPod dock in the room. Aparantly, they DO have them in SOME rooms.... Default to satellite radio on the TV. TV took 4 hours to repair... The elevator is REALLY cool though! An old freight elevator converted into a funky experience.

Unique hotel
From the first glimpse of the oversized chandelier and orange chaise lounge in the lobby to the authentic loft elevator complete with pull down gate I knew that I would love this place. My room was a dream. I felt that I could move in and stay there forever. Wood floors, kitchenette, super comfy bed and pillows I coudn't have asked for better. Don't miss out on the fresh croissants in the morning. They are to die for.

The Loft Hotel
The room was exactly like the photo pictured on their website. Beautiful, large, elegant and very quiet. The staff was gracious, helpful and courteous speaking several languages to accommodate all. Waking up to the smell of freshly baked croissants accompanied by a continental breakfast just added to the ambiance of this eclectic hotel. A real sleeper and a bargain ~ it's on my list to stay here again. It is on the Eastern outskirts of downtown although worth the stay if driving.

Sightseeing tip:
Short drive from hotel
A must-see is the oldest Farmers' Market (1933) in the Little Italy district of Montreal: Marche Jean-Talon with its colorful stalls featuring local fruits and vegetables, exquisite flowers and unique products from Quebec. Along the outer rim is a variety of food vendors - hot and cold - serving local delicacies, a gourmet deli and a fresh fish market that has it all! 5.1km North on Saint~Denis.

We went to Loft Hotel in Montreal
We went to Loft Hotel in Montreal (QC, CAN) for a romantic getaway. Needless to say, the Loft was absolutely gorgeous (#609), modern, perfectly lit, luxuriously clean. Since the hotel is very new, reception is not quite set up yet but the rooms are completely done and comfortable, and the service was oh-so-curtous. We were having 4 friends over for dinner and they ensured I had enough dishes, chairs and kitchenware to cook for 6. Moreover, Loft Hotel is located on Saint-Denis Street, 5 minutes walk from Sainte-Catherine Street or the Subway station, and about 20 minutes walk from Old Montreal. THAT is what I call an amazing location. The price was considerably low considering the quality of the hotel (240$ for 2 nights), but hurry-up, it will most likely go up as soon as the finishing touches are done. Parking is not included (independant), but it's just next to the hotel.

Loft Hotel - Post Mortem
Overall this place is really cool. The room we had was amazingly LARGE! Having said that, there was definitely a lack of design planning for a room this size. The lobby was weird. A huge orange sofa in a retro-cool room was a fun start, but the checkout counter was an Ikea table with a laptop. I expect this will look much better when its all done.THe room didn't have any environment controls. It was REALLY hot in there! We had to open the windows to cool down the place. Oh yeah... if you have kids make sure you're on a LOW FLOOR because the windows OPENED RIGHT UP (ALL THE WAY) and on the 6th floor to boot!THere was no telephone in the room, which wasn't a big deal except when I wanted to know how to turn down the heat. I will definitely stay here again! Be cautious on price!!! [...] THe list prices on the website were way too high. There was only ever one person working there. THere may be others, but I have yet to confirm this information :)

j'aime les vacances
great place for vacation
We were just taking a short vacation in Montreal and booked the Loft Hotel because it came up as part of a package. We were concerned about the construction because of the prior reviews but we had a fantastic experience!! The room was terrific, although the decor in general can be a bit schizophrenic. The staff was wonderful and friendly and as long as you don't mind walking past a few (well-contained) mini construction projects, this is a great place to stay. The location was ideal for us, walking distance to everything we wanted to see and only a block or so from the metro. The neighborhood is typical for being university-adjacent, lots of tattoo parlors and bars, but we felt completely safe and enjoyed the student vibe (and the many cheap restaurants). The only concern I would raise would be for business travelers or people who go to bed early, we had a hard partying group above us on the weekend which was no problem since we stayed out late ourselves, but could have been frustrating if we'd needed to get up early. Overall though, if we go back to Montreal, we'll be staying here again for sure.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
The express bus 747 runs from the airport (YUL) and drops off just a few blocks from the Loft Hotel (get off on the last stop on the route). The tickets are $7 and can be purchased at the airport, but we didn't realize that they are actually 24hr passes, so you can use them for buses or the metro for the next 24 hours. It's a great deal, and couldn't be easier.

Stayed in a 1 bedroom loft apartment
Stayed in a 1 bedroom loft apartment owned but around the corner from the hotel. Suite was modern and very pleasant but on St Denis, a noisy street with lots of nightlife and traffic. Parking was difficult and lots of stairs to bring luggage up. Staff were young and pleasant but inexperienced, 1 table to sit at for continental breakfast at hotel, some confusion around maid service and parking rate ($20/day). Suite was a great deal for the price, but you,re on your own as far as services are concerned.

Amazing Value!
The hotel was gorgeous! My loft was twice the size of my apartment at home, beautifully furnished, and the staff was very friendly. It didn't have all the services of a normal hotel, such as dining, pool, gym, etc. but if you think of it more as renting an apartment for your stay, it was great.

Unique stay, great location
The Loft hotel in Montreal is an incredible space in the perfect location to walk around the city. The latin quarter is full of wonderful shops and restaurants. The loft are huge, especially the corner units. Do not expect breakfast, it is just a possible pastry or apple, but there are plenty of options outside the door, or head to a marche' and fill up your kitchen. Good bed, very modern comfortable furnishings warehouse hip. Quiet most of the time. If you want to sleep, I would avoid weekends - while the rooms are very quiet, the hallways echo and there were large parties of 20-30 somethings partying in the wee hours...loudly... Bathrooms could use a shelf or some place to put toiletries, all in all a great stay especially for the rate we got. LOVED the neighborhood.

Great creperie north on St. Denis, on the corner of the park- also good bakery half a block beyond the park.
