I Am Shocked!

I will start off with a positive; the person at the front desk, Louis, was really nice and helpful. Otherwise, I have never been so disappointed by a hotel. To be rated four stars, is a lie. The rooms are small, musty smelling, and really out-dated. The bathroom is small, dirty and looked unkempt. The Wi-Fi is spotty and unreliable. I am still here because I booked 4 nights and it is paid for but if I can save you the trouble, stay away. You can stay in a 2 star hotel for a better price and same accommodations.

Can't get anything better for the price.

It is located in the middle of finance center, but very quiet, excellent restaurant and bar, convenient and easily accessible internet system. Hotel staff is always courteous and friendly. Even the hotel guests are quite and reserved. One of the cleanest hotel in Montreal.

Good Location, Well-kept Rooms and Friendly Service

We went to Montreal for the long weekend as a couple, and stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Location - This hotel is situated at a perfect location. About two blocks from St. Catherine St, and another 4-5 blocks to Crescent St. It works out perfectly for family or party goers, where-in it is walking distance to all the bars/clubs on Crescent St, yet far enough away from the nuisance/noise of it. There are a lot of restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. Room & Service – We had purchased a standard king room, but at the check-in they gave us an option of upgrading to either an executive suite or studio/condo w/ kitchen. We decided to go with the condo, since it had a fridge/microwave that we could use. It also had a full-fledged kitchen with plates/cutlery/pans, etc that we never ended up using. The condo was on the 12th floor, and facing the back side & the train tracks. I was worried about the train noise, although, in a period of 3 days/nights, I never heard/saw a single train. The bathroom was decent sized, but was very dark and could use more lights. There was a very light damp odor in the room from the air-conditioning system, which was noticeable when you first enter the room. There was a free wi-fi in the room, but the wi-fi signal was weak, and would get disconnected often. There is also a safe in the room, which was free to use, and big enough to hold a laptop. There is a small seasonal outdoor pool in the hotel, which we did not use. The check-in was a breeze, and the reception staff was very friendly. Parking – There is a $15/per day parking lot right behind the hotel, which also provides in-out access, which can be really convenient. We did not park there a single time, and ended up parking on the street every night. Although, you need to be really careful with the signs/meters, and unless you’re very good at French and are used to complex parking signs in urban areas, you should not risk parking on the streets. Overall, this is a great place to stay, if you’re not expecting 5-star luxuries from a 3-3.5 star hotel. I am very satisfied with my stay and would definitely recommend this to anyone traveling to Montreal.

Great location and hotel

very close to Amtrak station. $8 with taxi to get there from train station. Rooms clean, nice, roomy. Best part of it was the spa. I loved my 30 minutes massage that included use of the spa. Great way to start my vacation. Friendly staff.

Disappointing

When I booked this room, I was under the impression this was a 4 star hotel. I booked a room with two queen beds since it was for a friend and me. Got to the room and oops! One king bed. Went back down to the front desk and was switched to a room with two queen beds but had to wait about 20 minutes. Front desk staff was very friendly and gave me no problems. Got up to my room and the first thing I noticed was the smell. Couldn't tell if it was mold or if the room used to be a smoking room. The bathroom door handle was broken, the closet doors kept falling off the tracks every time you moved them, the only toiletries provided were a mismatched shampoo and lotion (no conditioner), both of which looked like they had previously been used, and a bar of soap. Only two bath towels were provided. On the plus side, the beds were really comfortable. The restaurant looked like it had last been redecorated circa 1992. If I went back to Montreal, I would definitely NOT stay here again.
