Nice but pricey . . .

We booked this hotel on a whim at the end of a driving tour of New England, thinking it would be nice to spend a few days in luxury prior to our flight home. And it was - but what we ended up paying was somewhat more than we had anticipated. For a start, there seems to be a hefty tax on Canadian hotel rooms, as well as a significant per diem charge for wi-fi access. The daily rate for parking is also astronomical - but we expected that. However, there was an excellent breakfast deal - a very reasonably-priced and substantial meal for two. Take the deal if it's offered - it may have been a special on this occasion.

Merci Montreal

Very nice hotel centrally located around the block from old montreal and the water. The basilica was beautiful so was st. paul street. Hotel bar had very good food. Hotel staff was very helpful and friendly, all spoke english very well. Can't get a better location, the hotel is connected to the world trade center of Montreal which has some shops and great affordable places to eat, also the metro is close by. Marius the bellman was very friendly and helpful with my 80 year old grandmother and ours bags, could not have asked for better hospitality. I would stay here again.

A reasonable choice

I was able to book at a discounted rate, which made the stay affordable. I was in Montreal for a convention at the Convention Center next door, so the location here was perfect The hotel bar and restaurant were fairly expensive, but not exorbitant. The shower never quite got to "hot," though - it was "quite warm" at best.

Girls Trip

This hotel was beautiful, quiet and very clean. The staff were helpful, cheerful and accommodating. The room was spacious and had a great view, the city lights at night was beautiful. From the hotel we had access to the underground and above ground city, shops, restaurants and clubs all within walking distance. The hotel definitely met our expectations, a great compliment to the city!

Clean and spacious,comfortable.

Intercontinetal Hotel will be a great place to rest when as a traveler you need it most. Spacious rooms with a well appointed bathroom is what we all look for. Any hotel that shows a picture of the bathroom on their website has nothing to hide. You won't be disappointed. The concierge were all extremely helpful, and on their behalf, should be tipped.

Great hotel, lovely room, helpful staff

This hotel is one of the nicest hotels i've stayed at in Montreal. The staff were really friendly and the room was great. I didnt get to use the gym or pool. The only gripe I have is that I wish the wifi was free - although there is a business centre.

Great couples weekend

I highly recommend the club level. We got free drinks and food from 5-7 pm which basically paid for the upgrade itself. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was smaller than I thought but the view was amazing. Perfect location. I will definitely stay there again

Great for a short stay!

Hotel is great value and great location to Old Montreal and St. Catherine street. The lobby has a great feel and wonderful bar and restaurant downstairs. The room itself is not as comfortable and trendy as other InterContinental's I have stayed in before. The bed itself not the most comfortable, but the room was clean and spacious.

Beautiful Hotel

We had a nice experience! The hotel lobby and restaurant were beautiful. The check in and out was very easy and fast. The room was beautiful and current. The only complaint I have is the coverlet at the end of the bed and the decorative pillow case cover did not appear to be clean. The bed was very comfortable though and the room overall was very nice. The breakfast buffet at the restaurant hotel on Sunday was very good and if you don't have a voucher it's $23 per person. The location is great and very close to other nice hotels where you can dine or drink!

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

The tax rate is high, I believe around 15% and the US dollar is not worth as much as the Canadian dollar. Everyone takes major credit cards and most places will take US dollars but will give you Canadian money in change.
