Very Clean And A Good Value
A very simple and clean hotel in a great location at a good price. The staff were very helpful and the UQAM Berri Metro station is nearby. There are many good restaurants and nightclubs in the area. A very good value.

Exactly what it promises
Absolute value for money. Clean, freshly repainted, free internet. Since there is no breakfast or restaurant somewhat more choice in the vending machine would be welcome.

A Lot of Little Problems
The room was attractive and made a good first impression. Hardwood floors look nice but the lack of carpeting added to the overall noise level. Also, the floors felt somewhat dirty and a bit sticky for those who prefer to walk barefoot. The windows were extremely thin and the window frame seemed flimsy which let in all of the nearby street noise (honestly, at one point I checked the window frame to see if there was a hole that was letting in all the noise). I didn't sleep that well and this was on a Thursday night in September - can't imagine how bad a weekend or summer night would be. Hotel had the most repugnant telephone policy I've ever seen - charged $1.50 for 800 calls (.50 for local calls). I'm surprised they didn't charge five dollars for a wake-up call. Good things: in-room amenities, cable TV with around 100 channels, a public computer provided for those without a laptop, and a bus stop for the 747 airport shuttle just 2 blocks away. Overall, unless you can sleep thru a lot of noise, I can't recommend this hotel.

Short walk from hotel
Nearby Chinatown is a good spot for eating and food shopping. Look for the ornamental gate at St Laurent and Rene Levesque. There are good spots for cheaper dining and you can also pick up some fruit or other snacks.

Great location! Average amenities.
This hotel was very centrally located to shopping (St Catherine), dining/bars (St Denis), and Old Montreal. It was also right near the major subway and bus stations. The hotel itself was average, but we had not been looking for anything more than that. It was clean, quiet, the beds were comfortable, and we had a great time.

Nice little hotel
Good clean room and comfortable bed. Helpful staff. It does not serve breakfast so there was an excellent dossier in the room suggesting local coffee shops, restaurants etc. The ones we tried were good esp. the 1820 Coffee shop just a couple minutes walk from the hotel on St Denis. The hotel met our needs for location and comfort. However the days we were in Montreal the temperature was in the high 20s and very humid. The air conditioning in the room was very noisy and we had to turn it off to sleep

Great downtown location
St. Denis Hotel was perfectly located within walking distance to Old Montreal, 2 streets from the metro and numerous restaurants. We couldn't have been happier (except for free parking but at least it was conveniently around the corner).

Cheap Clean Hotel With Bathroom
The hotel met my expecations: I only wanted a clean cheap comfortable room with a bathroom and that's what I got. I went in November and although you could not adjust the radiator heater, it kept my room warm. The room is equipped with an iron, ironing board, blow dryer and coffee marker. The location is great for people traveling without kids who want to be near a large metro station like Berri Uqam. Beware there are drug dealers and homeless people at Berri Uqam. On the bright side, you can take the 747 Express bus to the airport for $8. Inside Berri Uqam there is a Gare De Autocars (Bus Station) and this is where you get the 747 bus to go to the airport.
