Great for traveler on a budget who wants CLEAN & FRIENDLY

Hotel was very conveniently located in the downtown - close walking distance to old Montreal, Crescent Street (dining), St. Catherine Street (shopping), parks, and metros. Plus quick access to and from the highway. Parking was reasonable and just downstairs. STAFF IS EXTREMELY FRIENDLY and ACCOMODATING!!! Gym was great for a quick morning workout - surprisingly great selection of free weights! Room was VERY clean, beds were VERY comfortable (slept like a rock!). TV didn't work - but we were hardly in the room. For the price, I am very glad we chose this hotel - made our trip to Montreal much more affordable! I would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic location

We had a great stay. We started by parking the car in the secure garage that allowed us to come and go as we pleased. I reserved a king-sized bed, but none were available so we were upgraded to a king suite. The room was spacious and came with a Keurig coffeemaker. There was also a fridge and a restaurant that offers room service. The location was fantastic! We were just a couple of blocks from Yuk Yuk's comedy club, the Upstairs Jazz Bar & Grill, the Musee des Beaux Arts, the Musee de Grevin (a new wax museum, though we didn't go to it on this trip), the shopping district on Rue St. Catherine, a bunch of great restaurants, a green line metro stop, and more! The bed was nice and firm. My only complaints are that the pillows were too firm for me and my husband, and the walls are really thin (we could hear a screaming baby next door late at night).

Good Choice

The hotel is located close to the Metro and is only a block and a half from the main artery of the city, St. Catherine's Street. The rooms are newly renovated and quite attractive. I would choose this hotel again.

A great stay, in a great city

The hotel was quite nice, we decided to upgrade to a suite upon arrival, which had been newly renovated, which from my understanding was a good choice as everything was new and fresh. The hotel was close to St. Catherines, Rene Levesque & Crescent which were great places for food and night life, although expect a bit of walking or take the metro, because it was a little further down the strip (very close to Mary Queen of the World Cathedral). Pool was nice too....all in all I would say a great value!

Great stay, near downtown

We were very happy with our stay at Hotel Espresso -- it was actually much nicer than the reviews made it seem -- very clean, staff were friendly, our room was very big, and I liked the style of the room (no outdated carpet or ugly bedcovers here!). The hotel is a close walk to all the bars and restaurants on St. Catherine street (about 30 minutes from Partarre du Quartier des spectacles). My only complaint would be that you couldn't pull the curtains closed on the windows and the shades did not do much to block the early morning sunlight making it hard to sleep in after a late night out. I would definitely stay here again though!
