Thin walls, lousy shower
The shower was either scalding hot or freezing cold. I was woken up at 5:30 AM by the shower from the room next door. The curtains did not close. It was clean and the location is fantastic. The staff was OK. I enjoyed the breakfast in the restaurant downstairs

Not a good hotel to stay at.
1st the hotel put us on the 7th floor. The room had a double the was SUPER small. We complained and they said for an upgrade fee we could move to the Executive Level of the hotel. The Executive Level had a nicer bed, but don't believe the title. The walls were so bad that you can hear everything going in the hall and other rooms at all hours. I'm a heavy sleep and I was waking up from the noise all the time. Also, the computer on the Executive Level is real bad. The internet on it was like using dial up. The tub drained real slow so you were up to your knees in water fast. My wife found a fake eye lash in our bed sheets before we even went to bed. Stay away. Be warned, Stay away.

Try the restaurant L,Avenue and La Banquise. Both are near Rue Rachel and you can take the metro to get there. Awesome restaurants and be prepared to wait in line to get in.

Needs a major renovation
An old hotel that really needs a major renovation. The bathroom is microscopic and has the split arrangement (bathroom/toilet in a different space than the wash basin) that was fashionable 30 years ago but went out of style for good reason. The rooms are also small. In addition. the lobby layout is very odd (it is not obvious where the front desk is when you enter the premises) and most unwelcoming. The house restaurant (a plus since you can get a real breakfast, not the egg-like substance and polystyrene "bread" that masquerades as a free breakfast in most of the major chains) was good, as was the hotel location. Not up to Holiday Inn's normal standards.

Good old friend
We have stayed at the Holiday Inn every time we have gone to Montreal in the last 25 years. This time we were there for a week and felt as though we were visiting an old friend. The decor is a bit outdated and the room carpeting worn but it's comfortable for us. The rooms are clean and adequate and the price is right. The location is great! There is a restaurant in the hotel that serves good food in copious amounts at reasonable prices. The staff are helpful and friendly without being intrusive.

Holiday Inn Sherbrooke
We were taking our daughter to McGill, and the location was absolutely perfect, especially since her down (Carrefour Sherbrooke) was almost acorss the street. The hotel is incredibly busy, especially on Saturday night with all sorts of functions, but it was not a problem as it was quiet in the room. We had a little problem with the wi-fi, after a few hours and consultations with the hotel staff, it worked fine. Hotel concierge was very helpful.

Right Place Rignt price
Excellent service; inquired if was a priority club member (I am, it's free)...they upgraded the room, gave free breakfast for two, newspaper, 2 for 1 drink. They also gave me a pass to a concierge lounge with well equipped business office. Hotel is right near the annual jazz festival a the arts center of Montreal, a 10 minute walk to Old Montreal. There are optional eating spots around the corner from the hotel. They have a pool and exercise room and wi-fi in the room for free...albeit a bit slow. Parking is $20 or you can walk two blocks and park in an outside lot for $15. The desk service was superb. Both young ladies spoke French and English as almost everyone in Montreal seems to do and were gracious to everyone who checked in or out. BTW, the mattress was extraordinarily comfortable w/choice of soft/hard pillows and room had a nice view of mid-town Montreal

A bit of all
We were their for the Jazz festival which was well organized and great. Couldn't have choose a better location. Everything was within walking distance. I wish the staff was more freindly and instead of paper/plastic cups they had glasses. The room and linen was very clean. I would recommend to friends.

Short walk from hotel
The hotel is ideally located and close to most places in mid-town and down-town Montreal that one would like to visit. Plenty of places around for shopping and eating.
