Great value, excellent location
Very clean rooms, comfortable beds. Nice to have a fridge in the room that we could store a few snacks in. Great location and best of all an outdoor heated pool that is open year round!

Great Central Location
We had a wonderful overnight stay! Our first visit to Montreal, we wanted to be in walking distance to Old Montreal, the underground maze, and downtown Montreal. All staff at the Hilton Bonaventure were bilingual enough, and eager, to be extremely helpful.

Could Be Better
Old Brutalist architectural style hotel that could use a refresh. Garden is unique with ducks and fish in the water, but it's dirty and uninspiring. Pool is a great feature, though. Room #1209 was very large and faced east. It's set back from the edge of the building and outside the window was a drab-looking 4 feet of small rocks and a hook for window cleaning that was leaning against the wall. They could at least plant some greenery out there to make it look nicer. Room was near a housekeeping station and was loud. You can hear all activity in the hallway. Excellent downtown location across the street from Metro and a block away from the 747 bus to/from the airport. It was fine for an overnight business trip (and they seemed to cater mostly to buisiness travellers) but I wouldn't stay there again unless they remodeled.

Excellent place to stay in Montreal
The Hilton Bonaventure is convieniently located in central Montreal. It's only a block away from the 747 bus shuttle that runs from the airport through Montreal for C$7 each way. Also just across the street from the central train station and the Bonaventure Metro (subway) stop. The staff are extremely friendly especially within the executive loung on the first floor. I highly recommend getting a room with lounge privledges as they are very generous there.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
If you go to the Bonaventure metro stop across the street from the hotel you can buy a 3 day pass from the machine (don't buy from the ticket agent) for C$21. This will give you access to the metro (subway), train, and local buses including the 747 shuttle to the aiport.

montreal 4/7/10
They have a great pool, all year round!! Super location, Casino, Old Montreal, Chinatown, Saint Catherine Street. Super restaurants all around. The location is on the 17th floor so there is little road noise, The inside rooms all face the gardens, very peaceful. The staff was very friendly and the concierge service was excellent for directions, tips and great locations. The worst part was having to leave!!! The price was very reasonable with the valet car service great for little trips around the city outside of walking distance, no extra charge for taking the car out!!! Cabs to the casino were 13.35 each way to the penny! Beats dealing with traffic and parking, Cabs and buses get there own lane to the casino, we were there in ten minutes!!! I have stayed in other hotels and Beb & Breakfasts in Montreal and they are pale in comparison and did I mention the HEATED POOL!!!!!!!

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
The Keg on Rene-Levesque, great steaks and seafood, Vargas on same for raw bar. The crepe place on St. Paul in Old Montreal and Ruby Rouge in Chinatown for the best authentic Chinese food. Its where you find all the locals eating!! All are just blocks away from the Bonaventure!
