A good value

The room was quite comfortable and very clean. There was nothing wrong with the room. It was relatively small, but perfect for a place to sleep. The price was inexpensive by Montreal standards so I felt it was a real value.

Basic hotel with good value

This Days Inn was perfectly fine to stay in for our stay in Montreal - we had lived in the city previously so knew the good areas, but tourists with less experience in the region would probably want a more centrally located hotel (on Sherbrooke for example, there are many hotels between Crescent and Parc). This was definitely conveniently located in relation to Old Port, though, which is a very popular spot. The only specific complaint I had about the hotel is that there was no safe in the room, which isn't ideal for those travelling (i.e. often have lots of cash plus passports). Also, when we checked out they tried to charge us extra because someone said we were smoking in the room? As non-smokers we obviously protested and after having housekeeping check our room (for the smell of smoke presumably) they eliminated the extra charge. This hotel is for those looking for good value, not great amenities.

College Student Bargain

My nightly rate was about $80-$90 a night, when split between 3 college students you cannot find a better bargain. The rooms were nothing special, average size, had a fridge, tube TV, comfortable beds. Hotel staff was knowledgable and helpful! Wi-Fi was TERRIBLE inside of the rooms, only strong connection was in the main lobby. It was in a decent location, only one street away from the lower part of Rue. St. Catherine, but it was a bit of a walk to get in the center of downtown ex: Centre Bell, Shopping Malls, Churches, Night Clubs. Overall if I wanted to conserve money on a hotel but still have a decent place to stay, I would stay here again and recommend it to others.

Just OK for the Price

The location was great, and the staff was very nice. Right in the middle of everything. The hotel itself needed a little bit of something. A room safe would be good, really a good idea. That alone was a major problem since you always want to lock up your passport, camera, phone, all the stuff you bring with you, but don't want to carry around. The room was fine, quite large actually, but the mold in the shower was a major turn off. The pillows might be good for some people, but they were way too thick (like someone thinking the bigger is better, quantity over quality), making your head kink at an uncomfortable angle and leaving it sore the next morning. Not miserable, not horrible, but certainly not a hotel I'd return to.

Good for tight budget

This hotel is under major construction which extends into the lobby. I was not made aware of this at the time of my reservation which I thought was a bit selfish. Te construction ended up causing the entire hotel to lose water for more than 5 hours. Not able to brush our teeth or shower was a real discomfort on or vacation. Also the "free wifi" doesn't work on the 8th floor. I complained to the manager about the series of inconveniences and he gave us 2 nights free, free parking, and free breakfast for 2 days. It was enough to make the inconveniences worth the price. This hotel is 4 blocks from china town and during warmer months, I'm sure would be a fine location.

Superb Hotel with Easy Access to Everything in Montreal

The location of the Days Inn is amazing; it is just a few streets away from many of the hottest spots in Montréal--including Vieux Montréal, ChinaTown, Le Village, The Latin Quarter, and fabulous shopping on La Rue St. Cathérine. Renovations were being made on the hotel during our stay, but the staff was great with accommodations and the restaurant (Allégro) inside the hotel offered a wonderful menu and bar. Overall, I loved Montréal--and the Days Inn let us explore it in the easiest way possible!

Le St. Sulpice--as students we found this to be a really cool spot to hang out and order great drinks at low prices. The pitchers of Sangria are only $16!

first time in Montreal

We were there for a short period of time, however, the room was too small for 4 people. There were never enough towels for four people, as we had reserved. The carpets were dirty/dingy. Don't iron a white shirt with the iron because it was dirty and stained my white shirt. The parking was horrible. Do not drive anything larger than a compact car. or you will not be using the underground parking garage. The staff was phenominal, spoke good English. I was pleasantly surprised as to how well the natives spoke English, as my French is a little rusty. They knew right off that I needed help. The underground mall was way too much for us country folk. We kept getting lost and going around in circles. The metro was easy to use. Taxi drivers were very nice and had a considerable amount of knowledge of the city. That was nice. For the amount of time we spent in the hotel, I would stay there again, but if it were any longer, I would look for something more upscale. This hotel was good for the price.
