My room was very big and unique. From the shower to the walls. Each corner had a unique fair that made it a one of a kind experience.

Pleasant surprise!!
Parts of this hotel is still in the process of being redone, but the room I stayed in was finished. I would say everything above the first floor was newly finished. The decor was modern and cute. Felt very european! Also, right next to a minimart -which was super convenient. The restaurant on the corner of the street next to it was awesome, I believe it's called Deno's. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly and fun to talk to! I plan to stay at this hotel again because of it's location and the quality of the room I stayed in.

Not really a bargain if you add cost of parking, but still a descent place to spend a nigh in
One thing to note, this hotel has no parking, I couldn't find a free parking space anywhere nearby, so I left the car in the parking garage close to hotel for $15 a night, I guess same applies to other downtown hotels. Room was small but comfortable, we checked the matress for bedbugs, but haven't seen any, contrary to what other reviewers say. Compared to some other budget hotels I stayed in, this one had interesting interior design, just as seen on pictures. They guy at the front desk seemed very friendly and nice, even offered to help with our bags. Room was on the 4th floor and lack of elevators made it a bit inconvinient, but again I don't think that it's a deal breaker.

Horrible!
Bed is so old. Bed sheets smells and the bed has bed bugs. We got bitten! Rooms smells like a sewer coming from the bathroom even they upgraded our room. I would NOT definitely go back to this hotel at all! Room cleanliness is important specially the bed if you want to rest after the day of sightseeing.

Great location,close to everything
This hotel has a great location walking distance to restaurants and bars and old port. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and had nice extra's like a microwave and mini fridge. Overnight parking was a couple blocks away but easy walk down street and inexpensive.

Room was terrible
The room was very small 10X10. Electrical wiring was exposed, the sink was not secured and leaked, the bathroom was so small that when you sat on the toilet your knees went through the wall, the bed was 6 inches off the ground, the cities busiest hospital was right across the street with ambulance sirens blaring constantly. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!!! Terrible isnt even the word to describe it!!!! Very dissatisfied

A step above a youth hostel
Excellent location. Easy walk to Old Montreal, parking garages, Latin Quarter and more. Rooms were just large enough for the bed. My room had no chair. Shared bathroom in the hall. Very clean. Staff was friendly. Skip the continental breakfast - even for $5, it's not worth it.

Better than camping
Our party rented two rooms - this is our 2nd review based on the 2nd room. One of the walls in our room did not go all the way to the ceiling - which left it open to a hallway used by other guests and meant that we had light coming into our room after all our lights were off. We shared a bathroom with two other rooms. There was no soundproofing. Two of us could not walk past the bed at the same time - that's how small the room was. The miniature tv was mounted on a shelf high above the head of our bed. To watch it, we would have to look through a mirror at the foot of our bed, sit/lay backwards in bed, or sit on the one stained chair in the room. Fortunately, we didn't come to Montreal to watch tv! The bed was extremely squeaky/rattly. Just sitting on it seemed like it would wake other guests. For our $5 continental breakfast, there was no hot water for tea. Breakfast consisted of two slices of not-fresh white bread, a croissant and orange juice. Next time, we'd find a coffee shop. Aside from that, the location, cleanliness and staff were all great.
