Hip & Posh
Hotel Chez Swan is very hip and posh. It looks like a combination of a hotel and an Apple store. Not the sort of place I'd normally stay, but very cool and enjoyable. The room featured a huge, comfortable bed, and a bay window with a cushioned seat in it large enough to lie down in and take a nap. Good service, and good location near downtown and the Peel subway station.

Dining tip:

Those who are vegetarians or vegetarian friendly, try Lola Rosa on rue Milton near McGill. Inexpensive, good vegetarian food in a quirky college environment.

Hip and Comfortable Stay
I traveled to Montreal for a weekend getaway with my partner and Hotel Chez Swann made the trip all the more memorable. It has a great location, within walking distance to the fine arts museum, subway, restaurants, etc. The entrance to the hotel is discreet and pretty blue at night. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, clean and tastefully decorated. I loved the bathroom, which included a huge dual shower. There was also a large wall-mounted flat screen TV. However, there was no microwave or fridge, which didn't matter to me but might to others. I think Hotel Chez Swann is most appropriate for a younger clientele or hip older people, who are satisfied with a nice room and don't need many special services/amenities. I would definitely stay here again.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
Go to the nearest "Information" office and ask about the museum pass. It's a card you can use at a bunch of tourist attractions and have unlimited use of public transit for your stay. It was very convenient and a reasonable price. You'll definitely get your money's worth and then some.

Great Hotel!
This hotel is the definition of trendy boutique hotel. It is minimalist and modern but comfortable. The staff was helpful and informative. Check-in and check-out was quick and easy. Parking is not included but is in a lot on the same block. There is a discount throught the hotel. For us it ended up being about $10/day. Pastries and coffee were included at breakfast. Wifi internet is included but spotty. The hotel is in a great location in downtown. It's one block from a "hot spot" on Blvd. de Maisonneave and rue de la Montagne and 2 blocks from the metro. I would recommend this hotel.

Great hotel
Chez Swann was a great place to stay in Montreal. Everything is new and in perfect condition, and it was so quiet. And everything just looks great! Oh, and the pastries and espresso provided for breakfast are great quality! I didn't have to worry about finding a nice cafe nearby.
