The hotel Le Pomerol with its ultra-design dcor filled with finesse and warmth is a real jewel of style and elegance. As you will pass our doors, calm and well-being will overtake you. Its 27 spacious rooms offer you the same great comfort with a different refined look in each of them. The hall offers its broad panels to the generosity of the external lighting which floods space. Decoration, extremely elegant and diversified, is magnificently raised by selected painting and objets d'art. Harbor of peace in full heart of the effervescent downtown area, Pomerol marks its difference by a licked elegance and a great concern of details. Each twenty-seven room show distinct personality. Many have a whirlpool bath, a little lounge or a working space. All of them have air conditioning with remote control to make sure you have a pleasant and comfortable stay with us. Nothing to complain about. Friendly staff, nice decoration and fun breakfast that arrives in a basket (and extra food downstairs as well). The location is unbelievably spot on. It wasn't the largest room, but I just needed the room to sleep in. Definitely will want to return again.

Don't miss the Festival des Films du Monde which ends September 3rd. Some of these great movies are shown on St-Denis, a street close to the hotel.

Choose somewhere else to stay in Montreal

Terrible, upon arrival I had to change to another hotel since they could not repair the shower.

nothing special

the hotel is clean but needs updating. the staff were very helpfull . the location is good for getting around as its across the road from the metro and we felt safe walking around in the evening but you do get a few down and outs because of the metro and the park near by.our room was clean but small with a very small bath and had a funny smell which I think was due to the cleaning fluid they had used. The breakfast comes in a basket which is a nice idea but there is nothing exciting inside. Overall it is a three star hotel and that is what you get.

So European

Small rooms but well laid out and decorated and a little hard to find if you're using google maps and comming from the train station. Central to the underground city, the old town and the coach to the airport, Staff we're extremely friendly and helpful and the cool picnic baskets every morning were a treat. Would definitely use again.

An excellent choice

Helpful and accomodating, the staff at le Pomerol are the real stars here. The economy rooms are small - very small, but the feeling of comfort and welcome is felt even in such a small space. I have already, and will continue to recommend this hotel to friends and family, as well as business contacts travelling through Montreal. The hotel is well located for both walking and bus/Metro travel although common sense should be exercised in the evening when walking in the neighborhood as it should be anywere else. I would happily stay here again if I wasn't already relocated to the city!

Good value, but noisy neighborhood

Nice hotel with decent rooms at a very competitive price, and the included continental breakfast is a plus. The location is a great launching point for activities throughout Montreal, as it's in a major area for shopping, dining and nightlife and it's directly across from the main hub of the Metro system (Berri/UQAM station) for travels throughout town. For the most part, staff were really friendly and helpful apart from one front desk person who seemed convinced I was an intruder (I guess that at least means they're serious about security) despite continually proving that I was staying there. Maybe it was because I might have looked local (I was wearing a Canadiens shirt that day) but I didn't like getting interrogated on coming and going from the hotel, and getting the evil eye still after proving I was staying there was irritating. Everyone else seemed quite courteous though. My only big complaint is that the neighborhood can be very noisy, particularly on the weekend. If you have a room facing the street along Maisonneuve, you might not get much sleep... or at least you'll want to consider getting some earplugs.

Just a block or two north from the hotel (on Rue Ontario) you'll find Le Cheval Blanc, one of the best microbrew pubs in all of Canada.

an ok place to stay donwtown

It's a really friendly place and the location is very convenient. The place is also generally well kept, but it's dark, the romm decor is not very good ('boutique' is an overstatement), and the carpeting is not very clean.

Nice small hotel

Nice, small boutique hotel. Rooms are good, location is great for the Ste. Catherine Street and downtown areas, and the breakfast basket left outside your room every morning is a nice touch. The self-service coffee+candy station near the lounge is useful too.

My review of Auberge le Pomerol

The Auberge Pomeral is a small botique hotel. It is modestly priced and its location is ideal for me. There is no pool or business center, but neither of those is important to me. The rooms are clean and comfortable, as are the baths. Some rooms lack storage space, but most have ample. The restaurant is more than adequate, as are the morning breakfast baskets left outside your door each morning. There is a comfortable lounge and snack area with complimentary coffee and cookies and snacks, plus veding machines. All in all, a good choice when a comfortable, friendly place to sleep is your main concern. It is probably not a great choice for families.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Dining, nightlife, shopping and entertainment are all nearby. So is the bus terminal and subway. For meals, the Gouvernor Hotel a half block away is outstanding. Taxis cruise by regularly so getting around is easy. The attached restaurant is worth a try, but there are so many fine restaurants in Montreal you'll want to try others.
