Sorely Dissappointed

Completely disappointed! I couldn't even complete the review form because my appropriate description would not pass the "filter". Strange, since I could barely understand the accent of those trying to help me. But the hotel was the worst experience due to complete lack of responsiveness. They took the money for the complete stay, but would not discuss refund with me directly, nor would they even provide an itemized bill for expense purposes. Seriously disappointing.

Amazing value for the area

As a first time visitor, my friend, who has lived there for many years recommened the Yorkville area and specifically this hotel. It's around the corner from many more expensive 5 star hotels, but provides the same level of service and luxury. The bedding was luxurious, the beds were comfortable, the rooms were immaculate and the service was excellent. I'm a seasoned traveler with sophisticated tastes and I'd highly recommend this hotel.

Reliably good, clean, and convenient

The staff is courteous and polite. The rooms are updated and clean. The bathrooms vary in size, but are always clean and well stocked. Problems, should they occur, are addressed in a timely and courteous manner. It is my "go to " hotel in Toronto.

Great Staff and Location!

Super hotel. Right beside a major subway station and across from the Royal Ontario Museum. Great Asian areas and restaurants down the street to the West, vibrant Yonge street to the East, upscale shopping in Yorkville to the North and Queen's Park to the South. It actually was the perfect location and we've been to T.O numerous times. Hotel staff, especially the concierge and doormen were more than eager to assist with directions and recommendations for dining and entertainment and directions. Pool was a tad bit small but for the amount of people that used it, it was perfectly fine.

Great location and very good services.

We are an older couple who went to Toronto for a family affair (not at the hotel). We arrived about 2pm, the room wasn't ready and we were offered an upgrade from the Standard room with two beds that was part of our package to a Deluxe room with king-size bed and a sofa and slightly more room for $35 per night extra. We took the upgrade (don't know if it's standard practice to offer the upgrade) and the room was very nice, what you would exppect from a 4 star hotel. Everything was very clean, the staff was friendly, there were families at the hotel but we didn't here any noise in the room, the dining room was very nice if expensive; overall it was a very pleasant experience. The dining room is the only option for eating but there are plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance. We didn't use the pool or exercise room so I can't comment. The biggest asset to me was the location; across the street from the Royal Ontario Museum, half a block from Yorkville shops and boutiques, near the subway to go downtown and to the waterfront. The only drawback was a tendancy to have dim lighting in the room, especially the bathroom. I would recomment this hotel to everyone except business people who might prefer being closer to downtown.

Decent hotel

Decent hotel, and is central to everything in Toronto. Staff is friendly and the rooms are nicely furnished. Noise level is fairly high and the accomodations are a bit pricey for the service level. Hotel lists WIFI and Internet service as an amenity however WIFI was spotty at best and they charge 11.00 a day for it. It should not be listed as an amenity if you are charging for it. Most business hotels offer this for free now. For the price point I think there are better options in the general vicinity.

Not a great value

I could hear thumping base from the surrounding areas at night. Moreover, the noise of drunken passersby in the parking lot could be heard from the room. Now, I did not complain about the noise to the staff, so perhaps they could have corrected it had I called the front desk. The hotel also charges outrageous prices for Internet service, which should standard at any place. The room was clean and spacious and the location is superb. It is very close to great dining areas and museums. The hotel staff was courteous and helpful. The hotel restaurant is classy, but perhaps not my style.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There is a great breakfast-only place called "Over Easy" that is practically next door. It has the feel of an American breakfast diner. It sure beats paying through the nose for breakfast at the hotel.
