Shopping tip:
Short walk from hotel
Check out the shops on Bloor Street (Yorkville area). It reminds me of Rodeo Drive/5th Ave. If you're not interested in high spending I suggest checking out The Eaton Centre which is 5-8 minutes walking distance.

Great hotel, conveniently located close to the Eaton Centre with some really great restaurants within walking distance. Rooms are a little tired but overall clean and the staff are outstanding, friendly and very helpful. This is not my first stay here and definitely won't be my last.

Excellent
Though not in what one considers as the best location, the hotel is surprisingly good. Staff are courteous and helpful. A bit of walk to the closest subway and I was advised not to stroll around late in the night. Hotel by itself, was very good for the price.

Rest and Relaxation
I booked the Whirlpool suite for me and my partner for our anniversary. The entire stay was delightful. I chose this location over the Peter St (Toronto/Downtown) location because of the money I saved. The suite was lovely and the whirlpool was the best feature. The only downsides were that the movies on demand were far too expensive (about fifteen dollars each), and the whirlpool's jets would come on automatically every 30 minutes or so, and neither of us could figure out how to shut it off. Room service was provided by the Casey's restaurant located inside; which was actually pretty good! Worth the price!

Great Service
My stay at the Toronto Hilton Garden Inn City Centre was amazing. The staff were very helpful and kind. We got to the hotel around 3:30 and my room (King suite w/ Jacuzzi) was not yet cleaned because of a late check out, staff upgraded me to the penthouse suite without hesitation! [...] Staff went above and beyond to make sure my stay was enjoyable. The area is not the most desirable, but nothing you wouldn't find in any large city. Would definitely stay there again!

Money-saving tip:
Not Applicable
The hotel only has valet parking, and it's not too cheap. There are however a few parking lots within walking distance for a lower price. Also if you wish you park your car somewhere for the day and walk around the city I would suggest one of the Eaton centre parking ramps. The Eaton Centre ramps have low daily maximum rates on the weekends and is within walking distance to many places, plus it's in a covered garage so you know it will be safe.

The bad....and the worse
The room was nice, but the hotel got our address and credit card number wrong for the bills. Valet parking also cost $30 and it took an hour for them to bring us our car, and to make matters worked, it smelled like smoke inside. No one in our family smokes.... The halls barely had enough room for the carts.
