Nice weekend
The hotel was easy to find and was off the beaten path which we liked. Only 1/2 hour walk to get basically everywhere downtown. ( subway station is just around the corner ) Our standard room was ok, a bit basic, but the bathroom was excellent, all new and great shower. Breakfast was included however it was more of a continental one with cereals, cooked eggs and bread/waffles. Nothing fancy, but nice and clean breakfast room. Staff was friendly and helpful, parking on site, overall very happy with the hotel. Will stay again there if we come back to Toronto.

Location was key!
Location was perfect! I would have liked to known more about the building and the neighborhood. It was once owned by Hemingway but that is all the front desk guy knew about it. The breakfast was good, no fresh fruit though. The rooms were clean but run down. Overall it was a great place to stay for the money. Its a three star hotel, in an older converted home, so don't expect the Hilton and you will enjoy your stay. Our room had a walk in closet which made all the difference in the world when it came to comfort.

Sightseeing tip:
Long walk from hotel
Really close to the ROM, Casa Loma and Younge Street. Very short drive, long walk but do-able. If you drive it expect to pay about $15 each attraction to park.

Not great area, they stick you in the basement
I was excited to stay here based on the unique building and the Hemingway connection. The good: great breakfast and morning staff. Interesting building. I love this structure, history, and hope this place can stay open. The bad: The night staff were quite unfriendly. Room was freezing because the night staff stuck us in a basement room. My suspicion is it was because we bought online ($) . The Indian man who runs the desk at night needs some hospitality training or a different post.

Reasonably priced great location
Although primary selection was close proximity to business location being visited, the price ended up very very fair in an otherwise, expensive city. I started with a trial week stay and plan on returning for subsequent visits.

Welp, it was good enough for *me*.
Really, all I needed was a place to sleep during my stay in Toronto, nothing fancy. It was clean. It was quiet. And it was the cheapest option that was in/near Downtown instead of over by Pearson Airport. One of my important considerations was free wifi and this place had it. Another consideration was proximity to Downtown. This place is on the outskirts of downtown, really, but it's not too shabby considering the subway runs every 5-10 minutes most of the day and the blue night buses run often enough late at night. Just a hop, skip, and a jump to the Sherbourne subway station. The building happens to be a nice historic structure too! Built in 1882 apparently. Ernest Hemingway stayed here when he worked for the Toronto Star. Even has a kickass old-timey elevator! :-D This place is not for you if you're in a wheelchair or anything, though. No ramps or anything, and the Sherbourne station (as many subway stations) isn't accessible either.

Clarion Suites Toronto
decent accomodations but not a value by any means. I would have rather spent 150 dollars more for my package and stayed at the Grand or the Metropoliton which are 5 cuts above the Clarian. I got mislead as the rooms advertised look 5 times as nice as the outdated small ill furnished rooms that they are.
