Good stay, but manager wouldn't discount canceled trip

Stayed here in early February for the weekend, after a canceled trip from the prior week (due to a snowstorm in the northeast). After the canceled trip, I've rebooked with the same hotel for the weekend after. After arriving, I spoke with the hotel management about refunding (fully or even partially) last week's reservation - which is a reasonable request given that I was never there due to something that is completely outside of my control (snowstorm) and that I had rebooked and paid for the weekend after. Hotel management has unreasonably denied my request. The stay itself was pleasant - clean room, complimentary WiFi, decent continental breakfast in the morning (which you had to pay for separately though). The hotel is positioned near the Ryerson University campus, and was loitered by harmless youths both nights of my stay.

Not fancy but good deal

Staff is very helpful. Rooms are pretty basic but there were no cleanliness issues or broken appliances. The location puts you within easy walking/subway distance of the big areas downtown. If you're looking for something in between an expensive fancy hotel and a totally austere hostel, this Best Western is a great option.

Money-saving tip: In Hotel

Toronto accepts USD as most shops are eager to tell you, but your money will go a little further if you find a nearby bank and exchange for Canadian dollars (the bank should do the transaction free of charge).

great location for Gay travelers

High price for what you get. Decent sized room, but tiny, tiny bathroom and no safe. WiFi is unreliable. On the upside, you can walk to all the gay bars in The Village and crawl home.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Toronto has a grocery store chain called Loblaws. It more of a mall. Groceries, banking, cooked foods, everything you need. It 's only a block away from this hotel - on the corner of Church and Carlton. ATM accepts American debit cards too.

Good hotel but cleanliness

I stayed in this hotel for a night, and I think the hotel is nice, location is good but cleanliness. I have seen a lot of hair in bathroom. They supposed to clean it before they give the room to me..
