Doesn't live up to the hype / expectations

Kitchen closed without notice early. Shower had mold, bed was not comfortable. Staff was friendly but when kitchen closed, struggled to give me suggestions where to go to get a good meal. Ended up walking int he rain (hotels suggestion) to one of their suggestions and had an awful meal. Some of this could be a one off, but all of it together...not so much.

Positive Experience in Downtown Ottawa

Very convenient to the downtown area. Clean, very new, everything as expected. Indoor patio is great both for summer and winter in Ottawa but may not be the best option for those who suffer claustrophobia. Efficient service. Considering local prices in Ottawa and vicinity (it is an expensive town, there is no way around it), this hotel was a very reasonable option.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Very well communicated area. Cabs are available at the hotel door. Bus stop towards Rideau Center, University of Ottawa and the airport (Route 97) is in the same block (walk towards the parliament and make a quick right). Bus stop towards the suburbs (Gatineau, Nepean, etc.) is one block away (walk towards the parliament, and take the second right).

nice place

I have stayed at Indigo twice. The first time (2008)we got the romance package (wine, chocolates and rose pedals) and I thought it was amazing. The rooms were spotless and modern. We went back the following year for my birthday and were dissapointed. The room that they gave us was a lot smaller, and the price had went up more than $70. The first time I would have recommended it to anyone, but im not so sure that it is worth the price increase.

Not ready for business yet...

The Indigo Hotel is not fully ready to be receiving guests. The staff wants to be friendly, but they are trained yet. I called the operator from the Business Center and the phone was never answered. I finally had to walk to the Front Desk to use their phone to call my room. The plane portion had no problems. The cafeteria was always closed. The hours of operation were erratic! The floor laminate in my room , 406, was coming off so it dipped every time we stepped on it. Overall a poor value for the money paid! More work is needed to make the guest experience more favorable!
