You're Paying for the View
Typically don't splurge for such hotels, but it was our honeymoon and being able to open my curtains with a breathtaking panorama of Niagara Falls is reason enough to overpay. The room wasn't quite as luxurious as expected, but the bed comfort was unparalleled. Nothing is free - parking, room service, Internet use, etc. carry a heavy price tag, but you shouldn't expect to go to Niagara Falls on a budget. Staff is very helpful and friendly; our initial room had an obstructed view of the Falls, so front desk was able to move us to a much better room despite a busy weekend sellout. To summarize, you're paying 4 star hotel prices for the proximity and fantastic view that is ultimately worth it.

Short walk from hotel
Everything is expensive on Clifton Hill, but you can find coupons at several information kiosks. There is a fantastic haunted house next to the Appleby's!

We wouldn't stay there again
The location was nice, but the windows didn't block out the street noise very well. Also, the bathroom vents were like a telephone system between the rooms. Our room had kind of a damp smell, probably because there's no fan in the bathroom. There is no room service for dinner. The hotel needs to be updated -- the furniture and carpet are old. On paper it is very much a 4 star hotel, but in practice it's more like 3. We hope they update sometime so that we can reconsider our choice not to stay there again!

Hidden expenses and out of date
This hotel charges you 22 dollars a day to park (more to valet). They claim you are getting a loveseat, fireplace, ect. in this discription (we paid for the falls view) but the first 3 rooms they gave us were missing at least one thing from the list. The only other thing is that the top floors (over 17) smell like musty basement because they have a different air conditioning system. I know because we got the tour while looking for a room that matched the discription I had printed prior to leaving. This hotel is also in a great location for food and rides with a pretty park in front of it. The rooms could use some updating (couches are worn, shower curtains tattered, etc.) but all in all it was ok.

BEAUTIFUL View, Very Nice Staff
The hotel itself is beautiful, the staff is very accommodating and nice. The view from my room's balcony was amazing! The hotel is walking distance from a bus that will take you to all the tourist attractions if you do not feel like walking. BUT! Be aware: if you rent a car or have a car that parking is NOT free. There is a daily parking charge. Also be prepared to spend money.

Food around the hotel is pretty expensive - actually EVERYTHING is pretty expensive. There is a "Denny's" type diner/restaurant around the Corner on Clifton Street next to the Harley Davidson Store (I forgot the name) that is reasonably priced.

Fantastic Falls Views
We upgraded to a falls view room which was a wonderful surprise as our room was on the 2nd top floor with perfect views over both sets of falls.. We would recommend this if this is your first time to Niagara falls.. The hotel is perfectly situated and a close walk to the falls and restaurants etc We found the hotel staff to be very cheerful and always helpful, the room was fine and very comfortable but no bar fridge in the room.

We dined at the Fallsview restaurant and although reasonably expensive it was worth it for the outstanding food, excellent service and wonderful evening views over both sets of falls.

Great getaway for couples!
Upon our arrival, the greeter at the registration desk was very friendly and courteous. Our room was not quite ready (we had arrived earlier than check in) and suggested we visit the lunch buffet in the hotel. It was absolutely fabulous and while we were eating, we received a call that our room was ready.......only about a 1/2 hr wait! The cleaning staff was very friendly and our room was always kept very clean!!

The hotel offers a buffet breakfast plan which we would advise to take. Breakfast at most surrounding areas were quite expensive and the hotel offered a sweet deal!
