What a ripoff
This hotel doesn't warn you that there are 2 separate buildings and that the "older" building contains all of the smaller, smelly rooms, which they had one of my rooms located in, and the "newer" building has the larger rooms which are more up to date and nicer. I went with my brother and sister in law and we literally had to walk half a mile through the buildings to get to one another and I paid for both rooms at the same time! They kept us completely separate! Their room was so small, the end of the bed was so close to the wall where the tv was, you had to bend sideways to get around to the other side! even when we complained about the horrible smell, they said "just open the balcony door..im sure the smell will go away"!!! Nothing done to compensate or any courtesy whatsoever! who does that? Not to mention the disgusting food at the restaurant Don Cherry's! Expensive and disgusting! Pancakes mini size and chewy! Watery eggs...the only good thing was the orange juice! The alcohol isnt alcohol unless you get it straight. They dont know how to make a mixed drink to save their lives! Then let's talk about paying for parking? They charge $12 a day for you to be able to park the vehicle you drove there in the parking lot! You're renting a room there! Why the heck should you have to pay for that? It's 4 miles away from the falls...not like its walking distance. Overall, I would have much rather stayed on the American side and walked over! These people are not a good representation of a good first experience in Canada! I would highly recommend going elsewhere because you do NOT get anything but annoyance from staying at the Ramada Plaza hotel on Lundy's Lane in Ontario!!!

Dining tip:
In Hotel
Dont eat at Don Cherry's unless you like paying for food you will regret eating. Also, the outlets across from the hotel are outrageously priced compared to normal prices! If you're going back to the US, go to the outlets in Waterloo, NY! So much better and you get more for your money!

hidden fees
First of all, parking is not free. I was charged $12 a day. This information was not described on this website. Secondly and more offensively, was charged a mysterious $5 per day "facilities fee" when I left. At least the parking fee they informed me of when I arrived, but they hid the $5 per day until I was checking out, which is pretty shady. Again nothing on this website saying this. I asked what it was for, and they said "for use of the facilities of the hotel". The only facility I used was the elevator, so I basically paid $5 a day for elevator use. Never heard of tacking on extra fees without notice at time of departure, so it seems possibly illegal but definitely poor business practice.

Awful Service
First off don't believe that parking is included, we got there and were hit with $10 parking fee and a $25 per night pet fee. They only allow pets in 2 rooms in the hotel (double rooms). We were not told were our room was so we drove around for 10 minutes before we figured out that the 2 pet rooms were in the basement. The most of the staff is very uncooperative and rude. When i questioned the extra nightly fees i was told to "get over it" and i mentioned that i was going to file a complaint and then was told "nothing will come of it so don't bother' I finally Spoke with a reasonable manager who was willing to let us out of the rest of our reservation.

Clean room, good location
You won't want to walk to Clifton hill or the falls from this location, but parking lots were easy to find for us and what you save on the price of the hotel more than makes up for what you'll spend on parking. Check in was kind of a long process but the employees did send for others to help speed it along. Our room was clean and the bed was comfy. The TV was flat screen, not a very high resolution but we weren't going to watch much tv anyway. We didn't ever go to the pool or use other facilities. Parking spaces were tight but it wasn't hard to find one, and we noticed tight parking elsewhere in the area so I wouldn't blame the hotel. The service at Don Cherrys sucks, avoid at all costs, but again I wouldn't blame the hotel. Hot water wa inconsistent on the weekend mornings, must be difficult for them to keep up with all the AM showers. Also we reserved a king bed 4 months prior to the vacation and paid in full at that time but were told they had no king beds at that time (what's a reservation for then?). We had to upgrade to a suite to avoid 2 smaller beds, this was an extra $15 a night. These were the only 2 real annoyances but I did like our suite and it turned out to be worth the upgrade. I would stay here again, the room quality and comfort was great for us and I am not willing to pay $100+ more a night for a room with a view of the falls, you will basically only sleep there anyway!

mr annoyed and
Terrible place to stay
The staff were not friendly nor helpful. First I had to go to the front desk after we had chexked in because our room krys did not work. I was in line for 25 minutes because the staff was on the phone instead of assisting customers at the front desk. Once i got a new key, we got into the room where I tried calling the front desk to change rooms since ours smelled like smoke and was on hold for 15 minutes before i hung up. There were dirty towels in the room and the parking lot was a joke. Every space was meant for small cara and even our compact rental went over the lines because the spaces were so small, let alone all the SUVs. Aweful hotel!

Don't mind the halls, rooms are great
The hotel was fabulous. It is currently being renovated so the Halls are not great however, the room was fantastic. Most comfortable bed ever. It is easy to find and has Don Cherry's restraurant attached to the hotel. It would have been nice to check in prior to 3pm but, all and all a great experience.
