Oakes Hotel Overlooking The Falls

The hotel had one of the best views of Niagara Falls. The hotel is also in close proximity to restaurants and casinos. We only stayed one night but would consider returning tho this hotel.

Overlooking the falls is an experience not to be missed! Location close to the falls, but a couple of hundred metres to Clifton Hill Entertainment Area.

We stayed only one night at this hotel in March, 2009. The only good about this hotel is the view of Niagara Falls from our room, we stayed on the 9th floor, but we had to pay bit extra to get this room, Bad is that our room had a lot of dust, but bathroom was clean. I thought it was very very close to Niagara Fall, but you have to walk 2-3 blocks around in order to get to the Fall. We went there with my grandmother who is 69 and it was difficult for her to walk all 3 block to view Niagara falls. It is very close to Casino, be prepare to show your ID before you enter to Casino, we had to walk back to our hotel to get our IDs, and they also search your bag before your enter the Casino, so do not take huge bag. Also, be prepare to pay around $13 for parking per car at the Hotel, yes it is NOT free. Another disadvantage, they do not have internet in this hotel. Check-in and check-out was very quick; however, person who checked us in was very rude. I would not comeback to this hotel again.

The best thing in this room was the view, that is it. It was the falls view room. The list of shortages is very long. I could not beleive that there is no clothes cabinet to hang our clothes. We had to lay them over the furniture. I could not check before 3 PM, I was sent away at 2:00 PM and told to come back at 3:00 PM. At that time there was a long line up, so we checked in at 3:30PM, the checkout 11 AM next morning. So it is not even 20 hours! No fridge, no breakfast, no coffe maker. Although there was free coffee in the lobby, but it always tasted old and terrible, add to this that I do not drink coffee, only tea. Basically the room is very very small for a double bed, the washroom is small too. In short I was disapointed with this hotel, never again.

I was stay at yakuzi suit in a 20th floor of these hotel. The rom was spacious and nice decorated. The yakuzi was super great. I'm very disappointed with the bed mattress, was hard to sleep 7 nights there.I wake up every morning and seems that i was fighting all the night with Steve segal, and he broke every part of my body. The last night there's was a lot of strong wings and the complete room was shaking like a swing. I request a change for a lower floor room and they give me a room in the second (2nd) floor. I move at 10:30 pm of my last night stay. I was wake up at 4:00 am for a some one who was knocking my room door by mistake. And again at 6:00 am. No freezing machine in rooms, if you are in a 20 floor you need to get down to find a ice machine.I found one in a 6th floor. No internet in rooms. When snow the parking ramp turns dangerous with the ice, specially for some one who live in miami and never drive in the snow conditions before. I have a bad memories there. Pros: Great view,in front of the falls. Free coffee provided by applebee's at lobby. Under ceiling way to applebee's restaurant so you do not have to wear coat to get there. I do not visit the indoor pool, but is there. The oakes hotel is near the casino hotel too. Overal was a good pick

Hotel was awesome except for the fact that there was not coffeemaker in the rooms, There could also be a larger range of moive choices...

I had no major complaints.. One thing you should be aware of is their Exercise and fitness facilities are very minimal... Just enough to say that they have exercise and fitness facilities... but then, its a hotel, not Ballys. One other slightly annoying issue is that you can only access wifi from the lobby. You can actually see the network from your room, but its password protected there. No one seems to know the password, when you ask for it... They only say 'come down to the lobby'. Not sure if that is so they can monitor your usage, but it was a little strange. Other than that, the hotel is in a great central location, near everything you might want to see in Niagara Falls.

... small room, no fridge in the room. Very small bathroom and the sink is in the hall, which is also very small.

The view was outstanding from my corner room and the King bed was great. However the rug had little dirt spots and the shower door did not close porperly but overall ir was very nice. The surprise $20 charge for parking was kind of a nickel dime thing since there was a parking garage next door at $5 day and the $3 (Canadian only) vending machine when the front guest would not change a US $10 with $3 canadian and $7 US was a little tacky. Watch out for the Canadian taxes they are a killer

My friends and I were very disappointed. We wanted to see Niagara Falls. I assumed we would be in the main hotel and they wanted to place us in a motel like building attached to the main hotel on the ground floor. We refused to stay there, very musty smelling and not at all what we had expected. We went to the front desk and asked if we could upgrade and they said no. We asked to see the manager because of the poor condition of our rooms. She was very nice and apologized for all of our inconvenience.
