We couldn't fault this hotel
Excellent hotel experience all round. Only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is because 5 stars means "perfect, it doesn't get any better". I've stayed in "better" places but they have cost more!!! This hotel is spacious, clean, comfortable, the staff are friendly and helpful. The lobby is equipped with comfortable chairs and sofas and there is a roaring log fire. Good parking, nice complimentary hot pool and steam room. Complimentary tea and coffee in the morning in the lobby as well as in room. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and enjoyed and excellent meal at competitive prices for the area.

Shopping tip:
Long walk from hotel
This hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the shopping area. The hotel provides a complimentary ticket for the shuttle bus but this only runs every 40 minutes or so.

Everyday hotel - poor location
This hotel was ok - for the most part pretty 'typical' in my opinion. Downside is its a 15 minute walk into the main part of Banff.

Overview
The hotel just served as a place to sleep. It was no fun as I spent more time with friends in other hotels. The corridors were dirty and not presentable. There are better hotels in Banff

Central but quiet
Only a short walk to the downtown area. Enjoyed having 'The Keg' in the hotel. Had some great meals after busy days when we didn't feel like walking any more.

Beautiful Place
Beautiful hotel, just down the road from all the major shops and attractions, fantastic beds and decor, spotlessly clean rooms, safe and fridge in room, stunning large bathroom. The spa was a little difficult to find but was absolutely beautiful and accommodating. The hotel was fairly quiet, and the staff was very friendly. The underground parking was also a major perk. I would definitely stay here again.

Long walk from hotel
The Magpie and Stump is around the corner from Banff Ave and has the best Mexican food I've had in Canada.

Banff over yonder
A nice stay in a good hotel, but...
Labour day weekend in Banff... lots of people around, more than usual. So trying to book for the weekend only a few weeks in advance we chose this hotel as they had a decent room deal. We did not have the poshest of room. Standard and roomy, two queen beds even though we only needed one. Nicer hotel than some of the older hotels downtown. We could not get a indoor parking spot on the first night as it was busy. We stayed here as it has a large hottub and spa. Used the pool 3x in 2 days. 'The Keg' resteraunt is always good for food but we did not eat there as we travel to Banff often and have eaten there before. Breakfast smelt good but we went to Melissa's Missteak a couple blocks away instead. The room we had was noisy at it was across from the elevator and there seemed to be a party in the hallway between 2:30am and 3:30am on the Saturday night. Sunday night was quiet.

Short walk from hotel
Leave the car and take a walk through Banff Ave., past Bow falls on the river walk and up to the Banff Springs Hotel.
