Great ski hotel

Brewsters is perfectly situated in the centre of Banff, within a few minutes walk from numerous restaurants of all budgets and shops. There is a heated carpark for a very small charge which solves parking problems. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Lovely log fire and cookies after a hard day on the piste. Breakfast simple but more than adequate. Coffee/tea facilities in room. Large bathroom with bath/shower. Nothing else needed for an excellent week's skiing.

Nice hotel, great location!

We had a reservation for a Saturday but ended up later adding on Friday night. Unfortunately, that meant we had to change rooms but the staff offered to move our bags to the new room while we were out exploring. Our second night our room was on a back alley and we had some late night folks leaving the bars that woke us up briefly, but really no big deal. Banff is exceptionally walkable anyway, but Brewster's location is one of the best if you want to just park the car. No problems finding bars, restaurants, or shopping very close by. The rooms are very nice and clean. Getting to breakfast is a bit of a maze and a little cramped, but saved us a few bucks vs. eating out. We would definitely stay again.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Maple Leaf Restaurant is one block away - great bar, friendly staff, and the halibut and buffalo steaks were outstanding.

Fantastic room!

We were quite impressed. I didn't know what to expect but we really enjoyed our stay and the room was beautiful! With two queen sized beds, a 2 person jaccuzi and an empty mini fridge for our use. The room also had the standard features, ironing board, hair dryer, toiletries and instant coffee & tea. The only downside, parking at the hotel is always full so you have to park in a free public parkade about 1/2 a block away.

The Grizzly House just around the corner had some amazing fondue/hot rock but make sure to book reservations! Also there is a great bakery/cafe called Wild Flour that has some amazing food and fresh baked goods.

Convenient

Brewster's Lodge is a good hotel in the heart of Banff...a block away from Banff Avenue shops and restaurants. This is significant, as parking and traffic can be problems in Banff during peak times. Parking at the hotel was convenient (although space is very tight, even for mid-size cars. Guest rooms were clean and service was good. Nothing fancy, though. Continental breakfast was adequate, but not memorable....about like a Hampton Inn.

The room was nice, but faced over

The room was nice, but faced over an alley where early every morning the garbage trucks came and woke us up. At night it was very noisy with drunks and staff from the restaurants and bars on the alley taking smoke breaks. We could not open the windows due to the smell and noise. I would stay here only if the room did not face the alley.

Bare Bones Western Style

The hotel was pretty standard, It was a good central location for nightlife and shopping district. Saying that, if you didnt want to hear the bars, probably not for you. The free Wi-Fi was indeed free, although you couldnt access it in your own room, the signal was too weak for a number of guests. Brewsters at least had a games/reading/computer room set up where you could go with a computer They also had one there as well for your own usage. The parking you had to pay for, but not too many stalls and it was a tight fit for most. If you didnt get a stall, you had to park a block away. All in all, it was an ok hotel. pretty standard.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

There are 3-4 bars all within a block of the hotel. The Rose and Crown($3.00), and Buffalo Bills (no Cover)had live music, it was some good fun. The Hoodoo club was hopping and loud. The cover was $7.00,

The ventilation system was a little

The ventilation system was a little noisy, causing disturbance to my wife when sleeping. The staff were very good when we brought this to their attention, allowing us to change rooms (at 3am!!!!) Some suites only had natural light in the bedroom and artificial light only in the kitchen/living room.
