Perfect location

The hotel is located in the best place to enjoy the best beach in Barbados, Accra beach. Meals are somewhat limited and need more variety. The view from the rooms are great. However activities for children are non existent, not as advertised. There are grown up entertainment every nite but that's about it. They need to inform the guest in a more formal way other than a message on your phone. All in all the best was made of the place, and the beach. Thank you Barbados for all the sunshine. Will try other hotels there before going back to this one.

All the options

Overall, this is a good, mid to high end South Coast resort. The more expensive ocean view rooms have a nice look at the ocean and pool area. The landward side, although cheaper, view the car park and busy main South Coast road. I suspect they will not be quiet! The hotel dining was good and there are plenty of local options to cater for all budgets. The room was clean and comfortable with efficient air conditioning and in room facilities. The beach was good and although the water during my stay might have been a bit rough for smaller children, the hotel pools provided a good alternative.

If you have a rental car, there are some excellent alternative beaches such a Foul Bay that are only 20 minutes away and usually empty.

First and Last time!

If you're planning on going to Barbados, i suggest you change your trip. Unless you are going to stay inside the hotel your entire stay and only eat at the hotel. The Accra hotel was very good, clean, quiet, great pool, its amazing having a beach right outside of the hotel. I arrived yesterday and im so glad i did. Again, i do not mean to discourage you from going to the Accra Hotel, but only if you do not plan on leaving. The food outside of the hotel was the worst food i have ever had in my life, and to top it off it was more expensive than at home (I live in NYC, its hard to top that) There arent many activities to do outside of the hotel as well, besides a tour and shopping. During the week the city is quiet and dead, on fridays and satudays things wake up a lil but sunday nothing to do again. i repeat, if all you want to do is relax by the beach and not leave the hotel you will enjoy this place. But if your like me and you like to get a taste of the culture and activities around the island you will be very disappointed. The absolute best part of my trip was Accar's "Managers Party", every monday the hotel hosts a party where all the staff is introduced and gifts are raffled and rum punch is given (best night of our 5 night stay) Hope my review is helpful and remember to take lots of money, for this island is beyond expensive. Everything is imported so the prices are up the roof!!!!!!!!

Well needed Vacation

We found that the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are kept clean and presentable. Pools are not large but due the job and the ocean with the waves was fantastic. The only down part was the plumbing. Water pressure and temperature in the shower was lacking. Overall I'd recommend the Accra.

great place & location!!!

The Accra Hotel is the perfect getaway for a couple or a family to enjoy. It's perfectly located right in front of the beach and the staff is very polite and helpful. This is the second time we've stayed there and we will definitely return.

Barbados Beauty

The Accra Hotel exceeded all of our expectations. The staff is friendly, the grounds are gorgeous, and the location is great (10 minute ride from airport). The beach is conveniently located walking distance behind the hotel along with the boardwalk and restaurants. There is a mini plaza across the street where you can buy souvenirs, coffee, ice cream, pizza, etc. The Accra has two pools, one with a built in bar and the other for adults only (no children). The drinks and food were fairly inexpensive compared to other vacations we have been to such as Turks and Caicos since in Barbados $1 US dollars equals $2 Barbados dollars. If you plan to eat at the restaurants located in the hotel be prepared to wait as service is slow and restaurants were fairly crowded. Overall, hotel offered great accommodations and location was wonderful!
