Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

At Atlantis there is a deli called Murrays deli. It is actually a casual, upbeat, sit down restaraunt that serves the best entrees. The prices are $15.00 and up per entree but the portions are huge! My friend and I split every meal so we could easliy afford and appetizer and desert! It's affordable and delicious.

Better than I dreamed...

At first I thought I had paid too much for a hotel room. I didn't realize that I was paying for a fantastic entertainment destination. It was well worth the price if you like water activities. I particularly liked the Canyon White Water ride. Food is pricey but good.

Atlantis, Paradise Island

The hotel is in a beautiful location and the pools are great for kids, especially the water slides. The cab ride from the airport was $60!!! The staff were helpful, but not overly friendly. Rooms were clean and beds very comfortable. However, for the price it costs to stay there, I was extremely disappointed in the selection, quality, and cost of food & beverage. Water was very expensive ($4-$5 per bottle). We had the casual dining plan and the food was average at best and the buffet was the same every day. I've stayed at less expensive all-inclusive resorts and have had better food and service.

Disappointed with Royal Towers

I was very disappointed with the royal towers room. There was a light out which needed to be replaced during my stay. There were also no robes or iron which i realized when I went to go use them so I needed to call to have them brought to the room. I feel such things are part of the general maintainence in a hotel like this. For the money I spent I thought it would be better.

Vacation Factory

Staff unfriendly with some exceptions. Hotel staff had no idea what to do with orbitz vouchers. No personal service. Treated like cattle. Move them in, move them out. For the money paid, I would of expected better service. The Royal Towers could be a great facility but the service was lack luster. Majestic tours not very friendly. The dinner cruise was a total waste of time and money. Burger King would of been a better choice. Was not happy being picked up for Airport return 3 1/2 prior to flight. No need for that. Sitting at airport for 2 1/2 is not my idea of how to end a vacation. If you are looking for a place to relax and getaway for a quiet time this is not it. If you are looking for Disney World in the Caribbean, where everything cost three times as much as it should, this is the place for you. Even with a dining plan the meals just didn't come close to what we expected on a vacation. For that kind of money the quality and service should be better. Of the three restaurants we dined at, Carmines, Bimini Road and Chop Stix, the only one that was appealing and the food of value was Carmines. They treated us nicely. Very commercialized vacation.

Alantis Royal Towers

Booking the room through a site like Orbitz lead to the assignment of a terrible location in the towers. When we inquired about getting off the second floor so that we could see something besides a Palm Tree, the staff informed us that booking through a travel site leads to being assigned the worst rooms. The hotel itself is huge and very crowded. This is made even worse on the days the cruise ships are in port. The hotel sells use of the facilities to the passengers and the place becomes so crowded it is hard to find room by the pools or use the water attractions because of the size of the crowd. It is extremely expensive and we joked the whole time that if they could sell the air for you to breath they would. All the negative above being said, the hotel is incredible and the water theme park is very fun. We had a blast even though we came home with no money.

Very Comfortable

This hotel is spectacular. The room was nice and comfortable. The view from the balcony is breathtaking! We wished that the balcony had more room for chairs. There is only enough room to stand. It would have been great to spend more time taking in the scenery from the balcony. There is plenty to do and see. The aquariums and pools are unbelievable. We enjoyed everything including the SPA. Our only complaint was that things were a bit crowded at meal time. You'd better make a reservation for dinner. There were many families there and sometimes the kids got a bit rowdy. Overall fantastic visit!!!!

Disneyland take 2!

The Atlantis is very pleasing to the eye...the architecture is very detailed and beautiful. Overall, the hotel is massive and crowded (and we went in August!). Cruise ships dock in Nassau and transport people to the hotel for the day which adds to the crowdedness. The food is mediocre at best. Stay away from Lagoon Bar and Grill and hate to say it, Mesa Grill. While the food is overpriced, we expected the high prices based on previous reviews. Eat at Nobu every night if you can....the only place to eat is worth the price! If you are traveling as a couple, this is not the resort for you. If you have kids, they have ample slides and activities. The lines were always very long, even to get towels! I would much rather drop $2K and go to Disney with my family rather than the Atlantis. During the day, eat poolside at one of the grab and go grills that offer value menus - - food was good for the price. Our room was nice and well maintained by the staff. Great view of harbor - save your money and get the harbor view instead of ocean. There is very little beach at the Atlantis - there are several beaches, but small and crowded. My one final comment is the power outages - be prepared. The power goes out several times a day....and we got stuck once in the elevator! The staff didn't seem too concerned so apparently it was a normal occurrence. Overall, Atlantis is not worth the money, is too crowded and overpriced. Better off going somewhere more intimate if your traveling as a couple or going to Disney or a Beaches if you have kids.
