Fabulous Girl's Trip
Atlantis is a great vacation destination. You never have to leave the resort since everything you could possibly want is right there. The food is expensive, but good. In most restuarants on the resort and harbor, two people could easily share a meal because the portions are very large. By sharing a meal, the prices become much more reasonable. The water park is great and the beaches are beautiful . The people of the bahamas are very friendly and respectful. My only negative about atlantis is that they lined up multiple chairs on the beach many of which went unused. That made the beach seem way more crowded which diminished the beauty and enjoyment of the beach. I've been to Atlantis several times and this was the first time I've seen them do that. Usually, someone gets you a chair when you arrive and places it where you would like.

If you don't want to get the meal plan, share a meal with a travel companion. All of the restuarants we ate at served extremely large portions. Murray's on the harbor is a great breakfast location.

Day one: stepped out of a taxi Saturday at about 3pm and was greeted by a valet telling me to give him my bag. Excuse Me? What happened to Hello? welcome? may I take your bag? The staff along the path to the front door couldn't be bothered to stop their conversations and greet anyone, or open the front door for people with luggage NOT using the valet service. Our room was beautiful and I wouldn't expect anything less for 400 a night. Tip: DO NO TOUCH THE MINI BAR. Its weighed DAILY and you can’t use it for your own leftovers. However you can rent a fridge for 15.00 a day PLUS gratuity. We tried eating a meal in the hotel but the service was horrible as was the food. The staff is rude and do not even look at you when you’re trying to order, but the hotel adds 15% gratuity on the bill so even if they treat you bad they get paid. That did not sit right with me. The worst experience we had was at the ULTRA expensive sushi restraint. Now I have been their locations in NY & Hawaii so I am familiar with the level of service to expect. Boy was I wrong. We were led to our table by the hostess carrying two bowls, both of which she had her fingers and thumbs in; put them on our table with our chopsticks. Then a server comes and takes our drink order then removes our chopsticks from their paper wrapper with his dirty hands and puts them directly on the table. If you think that putting your hands inside my soy sauce bowl and your hands on my eating utensil is a 5 star experience you are way off. Our food was delivered as it was ready so my husband had his appetizer and meal delivered at the same time and my dinner arrived 15 minutes later. How is two people eating at two different times a good thing? We said NO to bottled water, but they brought it anyway and added 10.00 onto our check. We were hit with 15% gratuity on top of the 180 bill. All this left a poor feeling towards the resort so we decided not to spend any more money there and had the rest of our meals off site. . I recommend taking a 12.00 taxi into the city and eating at one of the great fish fry shops or eating off of Bay street. The resort charges 7.99 for chips we got for 4.99 over the bridge in Nassau. This place was designed to rip you off and they make no apologies for it. Its gross.

Atlantis Royal Towers
East tower is the best one to stay with, so close to the water park and nightlife, make sure to get a full size balcony since its so nice to just chill out in your room after a long day of activities.

BEAUTIFUL EXTERIOR, DISAPPOINTING INTERIOR
The deep water dolphin experience was wonderful. Dolphin Cay is an extraordinary habitat and this was the absolute best of the 5 night stay. We stayed in the east tower of the Royal Towers and our room was out of date. The bathroom was substandard. The grout stained and the tub small. When we arrived the toilet was flushing by itself and continued to do so. We called and within 35 minutes a maintenance person arrived. However, that night it resumed and continued throughout our stay. On the 2nd day, the tub sounded like water was draining from it although there was no water in it. The plumbing system is overloaded and needs an overhaul. The balcony from out room was disappointing. There was room to step out but no room for seating. I would not select the Royal Towers again.

Outdated property, far from airport but the only show in town
Overall checkin experience OK-room was OK but definitely smelled moldy. You need the AC on full blast or you will smell mold all the time. Pools were fun, but overly crowded with Children--Cove Pool is incredible but the rest of the property has turned into a haven for parents looking to dump their kids in a waterpark. Reminds me of an outdated Disney. Spa was awesome but over all service in the hotel was lacking. No one knew what was going on-restaurant choices were super limited and it seems the place needs a major overhaul to keep charging prices like this.

ATLANTIS: stay elsewhere and visit
We travel VERY often and i have never written a Review, but i felt compelled and obligated. This was a ridiculous experience and an extremely POOR value (2 nights somehow totaling $1684.40) We chose the Royal Towers because we were looking for "deluxe" accommodations. Our room was semi-clean but the linens and decorative pillows were worn and filthy-looking. When we would decide to go down to the main lobby, as soon as you stepped out of the doors, it was like being on the LA freeway system: packed and fast moving. Getting a meal was a daily strategy. To find breakfast food, You had to race downstairs as early as possible to get in an already long line then when you did, you were eating cereal, bad breakfast sandwhich or a stale pastry from plastic utensils bowls and cups. Then families were scattered about what would be a swanky lounge but was instead a makeshift breakfast area for the masses, oh and mixed with smokers. An over-priced bad theme-park quality lunch was readily available at many locations, but then finding dinner was another challenge for finding anything available. As for the WATERPARK and aquariums, you DO NOT HAVE TO OVERPAY FOR OVERPRICED ATLANTIS ACCOMMODATIONS because what they don't tell you is that 3 cruise ships dump their 3000 plus passengers there daily and the surrounding, much more affordable hotels offer wristbands for daily admission to the Atlantis facilities. What this all means is that when you OVERPAY to stay in the resort, you get to wait in long lines at the ATLANTIS Waterpark all day(try not to notice the trash in the gardens as you walk by) The staff simply were taxed. I think they tried to be as friendly as they could but there were SO MANY people at the restaurants daily and the Water Park that they were out of patience. My kids would say that the basketball courts (yes had to pay extra after averaging 800./night) were lovely. My advice is to stay at the PARADISE COMFORT INN for a 3rd of the price and get a wristband.

Charge dispute.
Beautiful grounds. Meals and drinks super expensive. Buffet breakfast $28 and Patron and Grand Marnier Margarita $21. Things are great till you have a charge dispute. Rented cabana for $200 by pool. Got there at 9 am. Water level in pool was too low to swim till 2:30 pm. At that time found out hostess had lost our room card. Back to hotel to cancel other cards and get new ones so didn't swim in pool much and wanted refund on cabana. Started contesting charge on 3/6 and didn't get resolved till 3/9. Talked to 4 different people.

Birthday Celebration
This vacation was to celebrate my 48th birthday. My sister and I went. Things to know: 1- it is pricey if you remain at the resort. There are some more reasonable eateries but just a few. 2- expect a lot of children. We went in February and there were a lot of children. 3- a lot to see and do. Pools and beaches closed at 5pm which was a bit of a bummer. 4-had a fabulous time, would go back and very well might
