Atlantis Great Time

Overall had a great time ! Grounds are beautiful!!! The room was beautiful but had to call for soap shampoo and coffee a few times. Coffee machine never cleaned. Was looking fo ward to dining experience but very over priced. At Olives services was terrible had to return main course as very salty and scallops not cooked!!! The lazy river, rapids slides and all activities all excellent and overall great time would most likely return!

Staff were very helpful and pleasant. No bad experience. Food at the Olive was very good, pricey but the waiters were extremely nice and made the experience worth going. Pools, beach and grounds are beautiful. We stayed at the Royal Atlantis and were able to relax in the room comfortably.

Activities for Young and Old

From the time we arrived at the hotel until we checked out, we were treated very well. Everyone we encountered, from bell men to maids to recreation staff, acknowledged us and asked if our stay was enjoyable or anything needed. Any questions were answered and directions to find any part of the resort were clear. The shuttle buses are very clean and comfortable. There were enough activities to keep us occupied for several more days if we had stayed. I would recommend the Atlantis Royal Towers to anyone going to Paradise Island.

Best Service Ever!

We went there for a family vacation over the 4th of July and did not expect what we got - super friendly staff who made us feel so welcome and helped us celebrate our USA holiday with a HUGE celebration. We did not have to miss out on fireworks and all the American foods and games. The water park was the highlight, as well as the free movies and World Cup viewings at their full size theatre. Everything was in walking distance, so we didn't have to leave Atlantis, except for our offsite snorkeling adventure, which was also magical and so much fun! The only down sides are the price of everything - food, drinks, sundries, etc. all added up very quickly. Also, the pushy locals on the beach who tried to sell water sports, braids, and other things made the beach not as relaxing and seem a bit low-class, compared to the hotel experience.

Bring your own sun screen and other miscellaneous sundries in your carry-ons if possible. Ours were in our checked in luggage, which United Airlines managed to lose and couldn't locate for a couple of days. We had to pay $26/bottle in the hotel gift shop. Then found out that stores in the marina sell the same bottles for $19/bottle. Still a rip off, but less so.

Couples vacay

The hotel a facilities are amazing!!!! This resort has it all!!!! Food on the island is very expensive since everything is imported in. So be prepared to spend money there or pack lots of snacks. We went memorial day week. Wished I would have brought dressier clothes for the weekend. Weather was amazing.

Horrible experience

Facility is very nice but customer service is non existent. My daughter slipped going up steps to slides. Struck a rock column that had no handrail, severely lacerating her ear and hitting her knee. No lifeguard or staff member offered to help. She was bleeding profusely and screaming. Went to first aid center and nurse cleaned off blood and told us we had to go to hospital for stitches. Spent 4 hours in ER. US insurance is not valid in Bahamas. Next day I spoke with manager of Atlantis regarding the accident and was told that he would have their medical staff check my daughter to make sure she was ok. Never heard from any medical personnel. Went back to site where the fall occurred and in a 10 minute span I watched 3 people slip in exact same spot. There are no caution signs or handrails in this area. Major safety issue. We got a flight back home immediately to have our doctors check my daughter. Atlantis did not refund us for the nights we did not use and have yet to contact us regarding the health of my daughter. Use caution when traveling here. Experience definitely changed our lives forever. Very disappointed in the way resort handled the situation.

Expensive!

Hotel is absolutely beautiful and close to everything. There is a lot of walking to get anywhere so if you're traveling with kids it is worth the extra money. HOWEVER... The food at any of the hotel restaurants are outrageous! For the buffet, breakfast for 2 adults & 2 kids will run $98.00 and the food is just ok. I read the reviews and thought I was prepared by packing snacks in my suitcase and going to the local market to get bread, PB&J, cereal, beer and wine. Packing my bathroom sink with ice to keep the milk cold all week. Forget about trying to buy a cooler there- they're nowhere to be found! A case of sands beer (their local beer) is 45.00! Everyone charges 15% gratuity in and out of the resort. Even in doing all that, we spent 1800.00 in food alone for 7 days. There is a sewage smell that emanates from the toilet which you will also smell periodically around town. We asked room service to clean the bathroom and make it smell better but it still stunk. Do yourself a favor and pack a cooler- you will be happy you did.
