Good getaway for price

They are building a brand new resort so I feel like they do not pay too much attention to the current buildings. We had no working water the last day at the resort and there was no real sense of urgency to resolve the situation. Out of all the restaurants offered, only one was open (expensive steakhouse). However, the people are very friendly. It is a good getaway for the price. The pool and beach were not crowded. FYI - learn the bus routes...taxis are way overpriced.

If you can not eat at the hotel, go to FIsh Fry. It is on route to downtown Nassau and is where the local restaurants are.

overnight in Nassua

We had to overnight in Nassau on our way to another Island in the Bahamas. Picked this hotel for the low price, had read the reviews, so we were expecting a worn out hotel. That is what we got. However, we thought we could entertain the kids at the waterslide for the evening. We got to the hotel at 5pm and found out the pool closed at 5pm. We could use the pool, but the waterslide was locked. Yet - we still had to pay the extra $38 resort fee. The pool side bar also closed at 5. The beach side bar stayed open until 7pm - although they were anxious to leave.

location and view was great

the room smelt stale and the air condition didn't work good at all made a complaint to guest service and no one came the nose it made kept us up half the night. We complained to front desk several times but no one showed up.The amenities were very nice enjoyed the pool and activities they had pool side. they do charge extra tax upon arrival and over $30 a day for housekeeping services which wasn't that great.

Excellent Trip!

I must say I was skeptical about staying at the hotel due to the reviews but when i arrived I didn't have any problems and would recommend this hotel to a friend. The staff were very pleasant and I was even upgraded to an ocean view room no charge. Any question I had they were able to answer and even gave good suggestions as to where to eat and party etc. I also enjoyed the water activites that were included and the slide in the water was quite fun! The location was great as well and accessible to the downtown area by bus which only cost $1.50.

Quick getaway

Although the hotel is doing construction, its still really nice! We got upgraded to a oceanview room(which gives you a view of the beautiful beach) for free and for the most part the staff was really nice and helpful! Most of the food places aren't open everyday except for Earl's diner which was pretty decent. You can also use the amenities over at the sheraton which was a plus. A con that I have is that there is no internet access in the rooms. You have to either be in the lobby or the designated areas to get a connection.

Recent trip to Cable Beach 5/27 thru 6/1/12

STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE. One problem after another - we booked and PAID for a corner suite, ocean view. After a 2 hour wait we were put in an ocean view with 2 queen beds - not corner suite - this room was run down and had mildew like smell. The next day we were moved to another ocean view (still not corner suite) with a king bed. this was a nicer room, better shape but still had that musty smell. Maid service was poor - we had to call to get housekeeping to come in and straightem up room and get fresh towels. On Wednesday, I slipped and fell walking into the bathroom after spending day at the beach - the room had not been cleaned - this was at appx 4:00pm. We requested an extra pillow - never got that. The safe broke with all our cash and wallets in it - security came up and could not fix, they called in the locksmith (was off for the day) after over 2 hours (and 9:00 pm) the safe was open, but that blew our dinner plans that night. The on-site restaurants alternate being open - we planned on the steak house, but it was closed. Wanted breakfast at the West Bay .. and it was closed two days in a row. At least we could hop on the bus and go into town to find a place to eat. We stayed at this hotel in 3/2010 and had a great time, after this last visit we will NEVER stay at this location again.

Our firts vacation together

Well, when we arrived the staff were helpful, once stepping inside the atmosphere was very pleasant. We arrived at 9:30 am checking wasn't till 2:30pm but they helped us and after 10 minutes we had our room. Our room was spacious, bright and neat. The air conditioner was fully working at our desired temp. Balcony view was OK, we were able to view a small portion of the beach and the other portion was a construction site .The Resort has a great location a tiny bit far from downtown, the beach and pool were very nice. We were able to use the pools of Sheraton that was right next to us. There were activities as well such as jetskiing, parasailing and a few others. The only complain was that

Wyndham in construction zone

I've stayed at this hotel before and enjoyed it but they are currently in a construction zone and experienced at least three power outages in my brief one night stay. They need to adjust their prices to accomodate for their current situation in my opinion. The hotel is also pretty dated. I also would prefer to have the resort fee's charged upfront when I look up the hotel pricing.

Very out of date

The hotel is very out of date, it looks like its stuck in the 90s but at least the rooms where nice and up to date, but the majority of the staff was rude and unpleasant. The pool was unkept and seemed to be falling apart. Would not recommend

too much tico time

The hotel was memorable mainly for the incredibly long and slow-moving lines. Even after midnight ... there would be only one clerk, and she was on the phone (as every clerk seemed to be, all day long and all night lone). To these clerks, customers were a distraction at best. At one point, there were four clerks behind the desk, and every one of them was on a phone call, and three of them weren't even pretending to serve the inexcusably long line of people waiting to check in.
