Hotel need work

The Hotel need updating. It appears that they may be planning to take the hotel down within the year since a large complex called Baha Mar is being constructed next door. Therefore they are not improving the property.

No. Don't go.

I would not stay again. This place is partially closed and was not worth what I paid. Most staff were great but rooms and hotel old. Many seagulls messing on deck, casino closed except slots, stores closed except one tiny gift shop, only has 2 restaurants and they are VERY expensive. The beach is beautiful and you can jump on a bus easily for transportation (safe and inexpensive).

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

Get the bus and buy groceries at the market. The hotel's prices to dine are ridiculous and choices very limited. The hotel is closing soon and is on it's way out!

This place sucks

Staff were excellent. Hotel is dirty, and old. Never go during spring break. The kids were off the chain. No home training. They stayed up all night running thru the halls. Banging on doors, pulling the fire alarms.

Funnin and Sunnin

Staff were very welcoming and friendly - accomodating to all our requests. But.......the whole place is in need of a make over, cleanliness was questionable at times, the difference between the "towers" was quite drastic. The place became overrun with Spring Breakers right in the middle of our stay and I think it would of been in their best interest to tell us this was scheduled. Pretty much ruined our stay :( The beach was gorgeous and enjoyed by us daily, but our room was never a place we looked forward to going.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Take a walk to the grocery store and pick up a few easy items for snacks/lunch, as well as bottled water(much cheaper than at the hotel). The rooms do have a small refrigerator which was not listed in the amenities section.

business trip

What ammenities were available were not up to par. The hotel is being kept open while the new buildings are constructed. The hotel guests are being shortchanged. The casino tables are only open on certain days. Dining establishments are very limited. What you get for what you pay leaves a lot to be desired. I think they should close the hotel if they are not going to maintain it as a "destination". We have stayed at this hotel before.

Needs work

due to the new resort being built next to this - it felt very run down and as if they have let the hotel slide into disrepair because the new one is coming. I was very let down by the dredge boat parked on our beach and the quality of the resort was very poor - it did not reflect the images on the site. It ruined my perception of the bahamas and I left and spent all my time on paradise island instead.

Resort on its way out

The staff were accommodating and friendly but the physical plant in sad need of upgrading. One can only assume that the Wyndham Nassau Resort is being minimally maintained in anticipation of the large new complex coming in next door. If they reduced prices to be more in line with the shabby and dated surroundings it could be a great deal.

Beware

Hotel service wasn't that great and facilities and hotel are really, really old. Turns out that the Wyndham (along with the Sheraton) is to be demolished in July but a new one will be built next door for the new Bahamar. If anything, go next year in 2014 when the Bahamar opens.

ROACHES in room

This hotel was filthy. We found roaches crawling in our bathroom. The hotel staff was rude, especially at the front desk. They overcharged our credit cards and it became a hassle to get a refund. Bad location, there are no authentic nearby Caribbean food restaurants that you can walk to and the night life is non existent. Spend the extra money and get a 4 or 5 star hotel. I attached pictures. I honestly believe some of these 5star reviews are manufactured to keep this hotel at 3stars. This place is at best a two star hotel and thats only because I had a nice view and flat screen tv. If you are one of those people who read the bad reviews first because they always seem to be the reality of what happens, take this review seriously.
