Perfect family getaway
Hotel had pleasant staff, a bit strict with the beach towels. There were various activities scheduled everyday such as a DJ by the pool, movie night outside, poolside BBQ, steel drum band, etc.. Our only issue was a damaged bed in the room and they immediately repaired the problem. Overall this was a very good value. I would recommend this Hotel to family and friends and we would return.

Terrible experience. Not a 4-star hotel
The hotel is described as 4-star but it is far from that. Probably the only good thing about the hotel is its location, right in front of Cable beach, which is amazing. Apart from that, almost everything else was bad. The staff was rude. The room was not clean when we arrived and they didn't clean it the next day. We had to complain in order to get the room cleaned. The hotel was kind of expensive, which would have been reasonable for a normal 4-star hotel, but not for this one. We ate twice in the hotel and the service was really slow. Even worse, they include a mandatory 15% tip in all checks. The highlight, though, was that they were charged as twice for things that we got. More specifically, one night we sat at the bar to eat something and get a drink. When we got the check, there was a duplicate charge for my plate. Of course we called the manager, who fixed the error and didn't charge us for the drinks, which was nice. However, the same thing happened when I paid the hotel charges. The had charged us an extra breakfast. We, of course mentioned it to the manager, who, again, fixed it and removed some charges from our bill. Still, though, this happened twice. They are either trying to take advantage of us or very reckless. Either way, make sure to check your charges twice if you stay there, which I wouldn't recommend.

The hotel is in a very nice location and the beach is beautiful though the rooms are not pretty and they look very old. The staff is very very lazy and it takes ages to get anything you might need. The other problem is that is that everything is super expensive and it's not worth the price they ask you. Althou I am a platinum member for starguest they had many problems in recognizing me my status.

Don't waste your time
The first night the people across the hall from us were SO loud that we didn't get to sleep until 4am! We called multiple times to complain but security did nothing. The following day we complained at the front desk & the only woman who did any work moved us. The service was terrible & we had to beg for towels constantly. There is no reasonably priced place to eat on premise. $18 p/p for a breakfast buffet and $38 for a dinner buffet?! No thanks! We already paid $1200+ to stay there for 5 nights! The only redeeming quality was the location of the beach & the amazing color of the water! I could think of cheaper places to go lay on the beach, an overall waste of money!

Not a 4 Star!
My wife and I were looking for nightlife, gambling (as advertised), great service - the norm for a 4 star resort. This truly isn't the case! We had a fair time. However, the staff is completely unorganized, unmotivated, and not in it for the customer. There wasn't once when I thought I was a valued guest. No on asked me (or my wife) if we needed anything, offered drink or food service, etc. It almost felt that the staff could care less whether we were there or not. We are not complainers (although this review proves otherwise) but we tried to make the best of it. The hotel advertises that it was recently remodeled - the only thing that was remodeled was the lobby. The rooms have been painted only. Our bathroom ceiling had plaster falling into our tub because they painted over a crumbling surface. The most disappointing part was the casino! My wife and two friends traveling with us were ready to sit for a while in the casino and spend some serious money. As we walked in the casino, there were sign on the tables saying the tables were closed but the slots were open... we didn't want to play slots! We can do that here at home! We tried to talk the woman (who was managing the casino) into getting some staff together so we can open the table, gamble - and most importantly - spend lots of money! Her reply, "It's not worth it to us to open the tables for you." Can you believe that? Another bad point was the Jacuzzis. They offer two jacuzzis on the property - only one, however works. The other, though it had temped water, didn't have bubbles. When we asked one of the staff members about it, he replied "It hasn't worked in 3 years." Ridiculous right? The bottom of both jacuzzis are crumbling, cracked and very warn looking - just not maintained. In summery, my wife and I go on a vacation once a year and try to go somewhere we haven't been for the adventure. When we travel, we look for 4 or 5 star hotels. This hotel cost us more for 4 days with lack-luster service, poor quality amenities, outrageously priced extras (drinks, jetskis, excursions, etc) than a full week of a premium cruise line we used in 2009! If you are looking for a plain getaway and don't mind paying 4 star prices for a 2 star experience, this hotel is fine. We will ABSOLUTELY not return to this hotel due to it's poor management, dis-interested staff, and dismal property condition. As for the Nassau itself - you're not missing much if you travel frequently - quite boring! You're better off going to South Florida - the people there at least want your business!

Went to the Wyndam Hotel last year and really enjoyed the Bahamas but wanted to get a little nicer hotel this year so I booked the Sheraton next door......It really was not any nicer than the Wyndam ....The Wyndam is a virtual ghost hotel now ......There is NO ONE staying there.......I don't know how they keep their doors open.......They are waiting for this MEGA Vegas style club going up next door called the BAHA MAR .......It's being built by the Chinese with a lot of Bahamas govt. money and they still haven't found a partner to bankroll the gambling side of the facility...........Anyway, if you like this area of the island and want oceanfront, then The Sheraton appears to be your only choice........The food is outrageously priced so I ate at the "Fish Fry" almost every day......$54 for to 2 plates of spaghettii at the Sheraton???? Not in my world.....They also always tack on another 18% gratuity.......The people their are very nice........Did not go to Atlantis on Paradise Island.....Maybe next time.

Don't eat in the hotel.....It is WAAAAAAAY too expensive......Eat at the "Fish Fry"......Take the bus for $1.25 per person each way, not the taxi's for $15.....Take the taxi to/from airport for $20, NOT the Sheraton Shuttle for $40........Don't buy Cuban cigars.........Buy Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee at the grocery store in town next to the harbor area wear all the ships are docked........Best in the WORLD.

Very nice, not over the top hotel.
We arrived early to the hotel but were able to check in right away. Moved us up to the eight floor for a very nice view. Rooms were very clean and hotel staff were always friendly. Food and service at the swim up bar were very good. By the second day they knew us well. We even spent one afternoon riding around the island with one of the lifeguards, who on his day off, gave us a personal tour. Thanks again for that Jerome, that was a great day! Hotel not crowded, did get a little busier a couple days when people from the cruise ships came to the beach. The grounds and the beach are very nice. Hotel is a little older but who cares when your in the pool with a Kalik in your hand! If you want a canned vacation, I would go to paradise Island (did it ). If you want to see and experience things this is a great place. Sunday nights at fish fry a must ( party night for the locals ). Go to the grillmaster, right east of Frankie gone bananas. Best lobster on the island! only open Thursday - Sundays.
